I don't understand how FS calculates the RDI. It says based on my info I can have 2300 calories per day. That is insane. If I ate that a day I would never lose. I aim for 1400 per day and that is working but I don't understand why it is figuring it as it is.

I always set my activity level to sedentary when calculating my RDI. Then I figure any exercise I do is purely a bonus. :) It makes a big difference on the FS RDI.

I set my RDI to match whatever my est energy used if I slept 24 hours a day would be - that tricks my mind into 'I'm not maxing my RDI and can concentrate on eating to satisfy my hunger rather than eating just because the number says I can.
