Ms Elizabeth's Journal, 09 January 2013

I am amazing. I'm able to work full time at a desk job, I work part time as a farmers wife, I'm a mom, my floors are clean, there are only a couple dirty pans on the stove, there are only 2 baskets of clean clothes that need to be folded and put away (At least they're clean!), I've had about 3 hours of sleep each night for the past 2 weeks AND I'm still standing, my shoes match, I remembered to put on deodorent, I'm not spiking my coffee at work. Yup! I'm amazing. Ok.. I may have cracked and should probably be locked in a padded room BUT I'm amazing.

The only problem I seem to be having in my journey to amazingness is that whole eating healthy thing. Sugar, caffine, and carbs have become my fuel for amazingness. Seeing as I'm either not quite bright enough to leave well enough alone and be happy at the low 160's or I like to punish myself... I'm not sure which. I've set a goal of 140 for this year. The problem with this goal is.. well.. I'm like a crack addict with a pixie stick right now. So... I'm approaching my weightloss a little differently this year. Seeing as I haven't managed to stay on track a single day since the new year I think I need a new approach.

I'm diet training myself. I'm not looking at weight. I'm looking at days. If I can go 10 days without soda, sugar, and breads then I get a reward. My current reward is one of those pedi egg things. Right now my feet look like something a caveman would run around on because someone broke my last one. Granted.. I run around with slippers or socks and I haven't played footsy with hubby for about 3 months now so it's not like anyone notices but when you can look past your hairy legs to neglected feet and all of a sudden the hairy legs don't bother you as much.. well I take that as a sign. It also reminds me that I really need a day where I can spend more than 2 minutes in the shower without someone knocking on the door to talk, crying, asking if I'm done yet, telling me the baby needs changed or flushing the toilet while I rinse out my hair.

So.. today is Day 1. So far.. so good.

Your floors are clean??? YUP YOU ARE AMAZING! I've been trying to get that done since Friday! I just got back going myself. Carbs have been higher but my diet is balanced and that is the first step in my eyes. My new hope is to pick a new recipe once a week with Ryan and try something that is healthy low carb (not high fat) and hope we all like it. Life is insane but it looks like you are coping better than I am right now. Miss ya girl! Remember You Rock!

OMG...floors need cleaning??? Ok, note to self to add this to my list of things to do....Seriously, I salute all mothers of small children who work full time (not to mention your farm duties!!). Good luck with your goal and great idea on non-food rewards :)

You ARE amazing. I whine about getting 4 hours of sleep haha. Suonds like a good plan to reward yourself for good behavior! Keep up the good day #1!

You are amazing! That's beyond a full schedule and you do it with sense of humor! PS...I love my Ped Egg...hubby got me a battery powered one for Christmas...only problem, you have to soak your feet for 30 minutes first...who has time for that? Have a great day, and good luck with your new plan!

pfft.. the only reason the floors are clean is because the baby has become a speed crawling vacuum. If there floors weren't clean there would be no telling what that little man would put in his mouth. Next up.. walking. Or climbing.. it's kind of in a race right now. The little guy has too much upper body strength for his own good.

How are you keeping your face out of you keyboard? It is so hard for me to focus and I've had a reasonable amount of sleep. I love my Ped Egg. I admire all you do! You might have to run away for a day. (Leave a note that you will return - maybe). :)

LOL, I laughed when I read this cause I know exactly how you feel. Saturday hubby took the kids birthday shopping for me so I had 2 hours all alone, I took a long hot shower and did a foot soak and scrub. (Need to get my ped egg out!) It was so nice to do this with no interuptions!!

Forget the PedEgg - you deserve a spa quality pedicure!

You are amazing! I don't think I do that much in a year. You'll get that goal beat, you can do this! Having small goals helps, especially when you are rewarding yourself. Good luck!!
