ranchwoman's Journal, 28 December 2012

Okay-my first challenge has started and even though 6km might not be much of a challenge for me it keeps me focused and motivated. I am bummed I am back to 240 but not surprised. The sweet voices of all those cookies I made has been getting to me in the evening-my bad time. yesterday I did both the bike and the Wii Fit. Today I am going to tstart an EA sports 30 day program and see how I do. I am feeling better and I must not be journaling my food correctly if the weight isn't coming off. So now I need to focus on fewer calories.

6km is a great goal, you don't want to go to hard to fast. As I get older even overworked sore muscles take a lot longer to heal up. I find weighing everything is the best way to accurately track my food.

I have found a great place to input recipes so you can get the nutritional information and since I cook everything from scratch it will help a lot.

it does get challenging to keep an accurate food diary when you cook most meals at home. Keeping track of individual ingredients, using a scale and measuring cups...what more can you do? I try to err on the side of too much rather than risk counting too little and dive bombing my efforts. .

I use the cookbook feature on this site for things I cook a lot, just don't click on the share button. I heard it takes forever to get it approved and you can't make changes if you change your recipe.

I have used the cookbook section here too-but I find this other site better.
