Lotus's Journal, 07 April 2008

Wow I am so THRILLED this morning, I couldn't beleive my eyes to see 124.2 on the scale!!!! It's a nice reward after a mentally distressing week of no loss whatsoever! It would be cool if I could lose 2 pounds this week! I don't know if that is asking too much..but heck, I didn't even EXERCISE yesterday, I just ate a lot of vegetables and fruit and had my low calorie day that I was overdue for. Sometimes I don't even lose after a low cal day, until I cycle them back up. I am totally a beleiver in the zigzag system.
Surely I can lose more with some serious workouts!
I slacked lots last week.I had a feeling I'd lost this morning, as I woke up at about 5 am wide awake! I took a sleep aid(and a hershey's kiss for good measure, LOL!) and went back to sleep, after about an hour of tossing and turning. It is beautiful weather today and will be all week I think. I am excited to get walking again. I definitely think I lost some muscle along with fat; I tried lifting weights last night and I could only do half the reps as usual! RRRR.
Do you know it takes up to a month or more of daily exercise for athe average woman to build ONE POUND of muscle? Yet it's the first thing to go when you lose weight! Not fair.
Well my hot air baloon is pumped up and ready to fly today, my mind is already buzzing with all the things I can get accomplished today. Although I TRY to stay positive when the scale isn't moving, (or heaven forbid, goes UP!) I definitely am in higher spirits when I start the day with a bit of confirmation from the scale!
Now that I am getting closer to my goal, I am really thinking about some NEW CLOTHES!! I am still wearing the same ones I had 25 pounds ago and they are all saggy baggy and sloppy looking. I was looking at myself in the mirror in a pair of my too-big pants and I was thinking, man I have a long way to go, because those pants made me look so wide. Then I realized I wasn't filling out that two inches at the hips, but it looked like it! I hate those pants, they make me look lots wider than I am. It stinks because everything I have is either too loose or too tight, and I am trying to hold off on new clothes until I reach my goal.
I don't know if I can wait that long!!

thats so good lotus! i knew you could do it! i think when you weigh in everyday... you make it seem longer!! but by the week you ARE right on track! work on those muscles tho!!! they burn weigh more calories than the rest of your body! so don't lose them along w/ the weight. i am ok, i did break down and bought new pants, i can't stand the baggy jeans either, they were falling off!

yay, I knew you could do it, Lotus! Don't apologize for bragging, to me it just sounds like happiness and I love to see my buddies happy! (Plus, I know that type of thing keeps me in a positive mood about the weight loss, so I assume it does the same for you, too?)
