Confession time - I broke Rule #1.

Rule #1 - "LET YOUR FIRST BITE ALWAYS BE PROTEIN".

But what did I do?
- I nibbled on corn chips while waiting for DH to come to dinner.

And what did this cause me to do?
- Finish the bag of corn chips after dinner.

So what will I learn from this?
- Always refer to Rule #1.

Thanks for hearing me out. Now, the positive spin - I will learn to follow Rule #1. And I am thankful that the corn chips are gone!

Yay for the corn chips being gone..Its soo hard to eat just one or even just a few...they are habit forming...I believe in you and your ability to stop..Have a great day...:O)

Neptune - got that rule off a low carb site and it really works. Protein will help curb your appetite. Now, all I have to do is follow it.

You are such a wonderful source of information, sorry to learn about it from a slip-up though, but, I never heard of that rule either. It is a great rule, so simple, but so hard. I would have been in the same boat as you, as corn chips are one of those I can't stop eating foods too. Hope it was a small bag! I am just trying to think of what would be good snack on, quick eats at that critical pre-dinner time & am drawing a blank for protein ideas. Ooh, cheese?

Oh, no -- got to stick with the rules and my rule is NO CORN CHIPS ALLOWED in the door, lol. Good to know the other rule too :) Blessings on your day :)

GG - you probably have a hard boiled egg or a little portion of meat (and/or cheese) stashed somewhere in your refrigerator? I come home starving and on the days that I have to wait for DH, if I don't snack on something I could be in big trouble. I probably don't have to explain this to you - LOL.

Gigi - I LOVE your rule, but since I don't live by myself I cannot follow it. The Fritos Scoops were bought to go with the taco salad for dinner. He eats his with, and I eat mine without - a least that is the plan.

Oh I LOVE Fritos. Thank goodness Micky doesn't or it would be too hard to live with around here. HA! Just put that behind you... today is another day! I believe in protein first bite! I have been doing that this past week and it's working like a charm! Keep the faith. I think a handful of nuts would have gone into my mouth if I was hungry and waiting for my hubby. I keep a can of Deluxe Mixed Nuts here for those moments. HUGS!

Never heard of Rule #1 but it's a great one! I'm fighting issues myself right now, but I can suggest doing up a big batch of bacon!!! In fact, DH burned up a good part of my last batch (put it in the microwave for 4 minutes rather than 40 seconds to warm it up), so I had to do up another batch just tonight. You could also try eating part of your dinner right when you get home and having the rest with DH when he gets home????
