SoCalPam's Journal, 22 July 2018

Dad and me at the fair yesterday. He's 84 years young; I'll be 55 next month. He's lost 30 pounds over the past couple of years, just by eating less and moving more (and he doesn't move all that much). For me, you can see a shoulder starting to emerge! I'm losing all that "protective covering", LOL!

My high was 185 about 6 years ago, I've slowly, sloooowly, slooooooowly been melting it off (going up and down) and got to 171, which was my starting point on this site.

Today I am 156.9. Yes, I count the ounces! Each one down is a victory. I'm changing my goal weight today from 145 to 140. I know I can do it, and I've got the kind of mindset that if I hit 145 I may just stop... and then start moving up the scale again.

I consider myself a very organized person, so the idea of losing weight I've already lost is unappealing (plus I've done it before and it stinks). I can't do much about my chest size (it never shrinks, no matter how much weight I lose), so I'll always look bigger, but I know that my health will have improved once the weight is down. It already has improved; I just had blood work done and turned around the "pre-diabetic" thing that was encroaching. Victory!
