baskington's Journal, 15 July 2018

gosh, for the past week or so I have been pushing myself to eat more protein and veggies. More or less, I have done both.

I am so full it is hard to also get my calorie level up. I don't care a great deal for veggies, but I think I need to go out of my way to get the extra fiber and vitamins from them so I am forcing myself to eat more of them.

The only way to get up to 1200 calories is to add my fat bombs. Not that I mind having treats. but I would prefer to keep my fat intake a little more moderate.

With my increased exercise over the past month, I definitely burn off the calories. I should be dropping the weight like crazy.

One more week test driving more veggies, more protein at 70 to 80gm range. See if a steady balance helps me get over the hump.

Still bouncing between 135 and 137

It may help to know that our bodies do not need vegetables. I ate 6-16 cups of veggies every day for ten months, believing the would do good. Have since learned more about veggies, and now avoid them completely. Meat is far more nutritious,. Some veggies as garnish is fine. Pushing veggies may lead to great discomfort. You may find yourself feeling fantastic if you lower veggies, and up the meat some.

I understand ur struggle I also force myself to eat veggies. I don’t need them for weight loss or maintenance but I know they are good for my health

I definitely don't ever need them (veggies), but I need the fiber and health benefits. I also believe it might help level my water retention/ depletion. Just so hard to eat more then 1000 calories of just food, healthy choices are lower calorie and filling. I have to supplement the fat bombs on most days to hit 1000. Diddlee, I need the fiber and health benefits of natural vitamins and minerals. since I have added the brussel sprouts more regularly I am not constipated which is a good thing.

And I'm still struggling to get mine down to 1000! Unfortunately I love veggies and miss them!

1000 cal. Is a lot when you are a fruit/vegetable person. Part of the reason why people who don’t eat fruits and verges have so much trouble with water weight is because of salt but because they may not be getting enough potassium in your diet. 4700 mg a day. Our main source is f/v. Without potassium, sodium gets stuck in your cells. Also a problem for people with heart issues.. Google is your friend. Read all about it.

didlee— I am not vegetarian but I have been eating this way for about 18 years. It’s the nutrition from the collective fruit/vegetable family that is so important. Here on FS there is so much emphasis on fat/carb/wt , but I don’t see many people talking about chromium, selenium, nitrous oxide, etc. the Important thing is to feed your body what it needs to stay alive and thrive from whatever source works for you.

Yeah I too have had a hard time eating 1k cals. It’s really hard to eat a big salad. I just don’t have enough room. The fat fills me so easily and I my stomach has shrunk so much #ketoproblems

I watch my mineral intake too, if I have a really low number on potassium I tend to take a supplement. fish and avocado days the other site I use tends to show about 45 to 50% and naturally some gets missed. not all items show their true mineral content there. I am careful not to add a lot daily. once I get my bloodwork ups at my physical next week I will have a better idea. crashtestdawnie, I tend to eat moderate fat in mix with my proteins and veggies, salads some days but most I count on cauliflower, brussel sproats and spinach. spinach is basically no carbs and a regular staple. I fill whatever gap I have near the end of the day with the fat. I have so much energy I run around like crazy. so different from before diet corrections. I was tired and depressed at 155. energetic at 137. so that part is good. I am adding the zuchinni boats this week. finding ways to increase veggies more inventively. last week I was adding riced cauliflower to my ground chuck with different spices.
