Rubato465– in my professional life heart catch lab supervisor was one of the hats I have worn. Heart cath is still the gold standard. If a blockage is suspected they need to know where, how severe and for many, they can be taken care of at the same time. They need to know if it is plaque (fat) or a “kink” in the vessel. Hang in there.

Thanks for encouragement about the angiogram I realize it’s the gold standard but it does scare me as it’s an intervention and it has some risk.... thurs I get an echocardiogram have had many of those no concern w that one

I had angiogram done many many years ago then last year I had to have another one I was so anxious about it that my blood pressure and heart rate were up, I had to stay there until they could get things under control before they did it, anyway after all my anxiety it was nothing like the one I had done the first time. I wish you all the best if you have to have it, nothing anyone can say will calm you because it’s a worrying thing. 💐

I don’t know about other places but Around my neck of the woods patients are given mild sedation and even if they are awake and talking to me they often don’t remember a thing. Now with the newer technologies that are available, the procedure can often be done via your wrist artery. Even stents can be placed that way. Hang in there. You are one of the lucky ones— they found it.

The wrist might be a more appealing option except I’m a serious pianist so I want to avoid doing anything to my wrist above all else!
