BuffyBear's Journal, 05 August 2012

Today I am thankful for my Husband.

Yesterday he was on a ladder insulating his garage ceiling and the ladder broke - dumping him on the cement floor. He is OK (at least until the pain pills wear off) but I worry about him working by himself all the time. So, as much as I may complain about him (will Hope4Health see this?) I really do love him and appreciate having him around.

Eating and food recording went well yesterday - think I'm finally off vacation mode. Today I have to go shopping and finish up things I had planned to do yesterday (before DH's incident).

Hope you all are enjoying the remainder of your weekend.

Oh gosh Buffy....that's too close to what hapened to my own DH right after we moved in. He fell off an attic stairs (HIGH-ceilinged garage), fell on the concrete floor and blew out his ACL, with other damage to the knee as well. SO very happy your DH fared better than that - those concrete floors are unforgiving! Better head out for a new ladder pronto!

Goodness Buffy - hoping all is well when the painkillers wear off!! Good to appreciate him, but it's normal to complain about him :)

Yikes! A tough way to be reminded of how much we appreciate those around us. Glad to hear he is (mostly) well.

Oh my goodness! I was just commenting on your Saturday journal and now reading about your DH's accident. We have a rickety old wood ladder too but have a nice aluminum one, too. Think we might be throwing out the wooden one now! Hope and pray he is okay. It is good to be thankful for your DH. It takes so long to train them... I would hate to think of starting over again. ;) I am bad, I know. (((HUGS!!)))

Sorry to hear about DH accident with the ladder and falling to the cement. I hear your concerns about him being on a ladder, mine are the same for my DH especially since his stroke & numbness of left side, but he forges ahead, I just keep a watchful eye. Hope he doesn't have any damage to hitting the concrete.

Bren - some men seem to forget they are mortal.

Sandy - Nope - he is going to repair it. Has idea for improving original design (metal reinforcements of fiberglass ladder). Maybe he'll Patent it and make millions - LOL. Hope your DH's knee healed well.

Tracy - glad you understand ("You've got to know when to hold them, know when to fold them, know when to walk away, know when to run").
