@philrmcknight's Journal, 26 June 2018

Yesterday I ate like an idiot, cheeseburger, fries, and chocolate pies, Coca-Cola, milk, and coffee. Not good. So I woke up this morning and decided to start the day off right with meat, not sabotaging myself again today.

Have you any idea what triggered it, Phil? It's so not like you. Don't feel you have to say if it's too personal, though. I'm just wondering

We are all human. This is what we do.

Stress. Ha! Yes, I'm used to stress, but this was to the nᵗʰº. Related to my post over the weekend, to wit, had to watch Lilly learn a hard lesson about life and making bad decisions. Put it this way, she thought she should give a chicken a bath and it didn't turn out so well. She knew better, had been told not to put the chickens in the duck pond, but did it anyway, the chicken fought, and she didn't relent until the chicken couldn't fight anymore. I've been pretty torn up about it since it happened, for a lot of reasons. Y'all are the first people I've shared this with, doing so reluctantly here, and if I get any snide comments or snarky responses, God help the smart-mouth s-o-b that dares.

@Phil - I think I can understand how you feel. However, I stick by my original comment. Yes, we want to protect the ones we love, but we are human and not perfect.

Thanks, Adef, sorry if that seemed aggressive towards you, I wasn't offended by what you posted.

Eat more keto, like you did this morning. Sometimes we need more food, have keto close by and dont temp yourself. Good luck going forward, there are so many allowable foods.

Thanks, Mary Lou, that's the plan. I feel pretty sick today, probably all the water retention, got a headache to go with it. We got a lot accomplished over the weekend, even with the drama; floor tiles in the bathroom, patched ceiling tiles in the living room and kitchen, removed the A/C window unit from the living room and hosed out the evaporater coils (work!!), and a handful of other really fun (sarcasm) projects.

I salute you for providing an arena for Lilly to grow, both spiritually and mentally, as well as physically. It is the role of Fatherhood. God bless you. Is that a T-bone or Porterhouse, no matter, well deserved.

That is the attitude, today we have the opportunity to eat better than yesterday, life is rough sometimes and we are here learning how to balance our emotions. I am not going to lie some days I lose the control of my emotions and eat whatever I find at home.

You’ll be alright Phil. One day won’t do anything detrimental. As you’re already on track with your regular dealio, it’ll all work out in the end 👍🏻

I am proud of you at letting her learn. Better than sitting in from of a video game. My kids are big and I still have to bite my lower lip sometimes....

I seriously appreciate your size of steak choice. It looks awesome.

Package said T-bone, but they're the size of Porterhouse, I <3 H-E-B, they've got ribeyes on sale this week, and spareribs. Not much room in the freezer, though, that's one reason I went ahead and cooked those this morning.

Thanks, my people, I'm busy with some cleaning chores today, helps break things up if I can sneak off and on FS. Tahoe, I remember Hoss Cartwright always lamenting how small a steak was, better have two! lol

We have a chick living in our huge entry closet (6x10) because it’s the only one left out of 11! Something broke the door of the hinges and got the last 3 :/. Since (s)he is lonely we have taken turns playing with it. I’ve never thought about giving it a bath but my kids tried with our cat that’s afraid of water. I’ll have to have a talk with them just in case. This thing is like 5 weeks old and flies to the very top and likes to shriek as soon as I get under it. Of course I don’t see it so I jump out of my skin lol. Almost the same color as the wood planking we have on the walls in there. I also have mixed feelings about letting my kids learn hard lessons. I want to protect them yet that’s not doing them any favors. We all do the best we can and hope we are doing a good job in the long run. Sorry you had just a rough time :/.
