Just gonna put this here.

When i wasn't eating low carb, if i just happened to have an omelet for breakfast I'd be satisfied for several hours. But, if i had the same kind of omelet but also had biscuits or toast with jelly i would be ravenous before lunch. And by ravenous i mean weak, irritable and so hungry i felt nauseated in that way that only something to eat will fix. If i ate cereal and milk not only would i get hungry sooner, I'd also stay hungry until dinner. From childhood until my mid-thirties if there was fruit in the house i had difficulty stopping at just one piece and i thought of it all day long. I just want to put that our there because i get tired of people talking like what i have lived through in life isn't possible.

I am the same way! I eat protein and good carbs for breakfast and any time during the day, I always have energy and most of the time not hungry. It sounds to me you are doing every thing right. Good luck

Love this insight. Do you limit your fruit intake now? Also, I watched the YouTube video you recommended by that Dr, was AWESOME. I was so happy to feel NO HUNGER PAINS when I switched to low carb. I don’t follow Keto at all, but I feel my body in what people seem to describe as ketosis. I really relate to your post!

I'm not really keto either because i rarely, if ever get my fat high enough to qualify. I am lchf though and for now average about 50 net carbs or less most days. I don't tell myself there is fruit i can't have. If there was something i wanted now i would find a way to work it in. As long as i don't eat it quickly or alone and don't eat enough of it to spike my insulin then i don't crave more or get that sugar drop that makes me so hungry. In the last week I've had peaches strawberries and blackberries, each with a little cream.

Awesome. So, coupling fruit with a fat serving has helped? I’ve heard of coupling protein with carbs, and I’m totally ready to learn more coupling. Thank you

Glad you are doing so well!

I can confirm that my body operates the same way. When I do Atkins (low carb) I get the same benefits you do. My problem was that I kept 'slipping' (cheating). For people like me fasting helps.

Sounds good CJ! That’s the way I work it to keep my insulin spikes down and my blood sugars under pretty strict control. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I keep the carbs at about 40-80 g most days and fats from 60-80g with protein 60-100 g but mostly it is a case of only eating a carb if it is a complex carb or otherwise bound up with other stuff I’m eating. LOL The last 15 lbs of the 150 I’ve already lost are coming off slow this way, but I want a WOE that’s sustainable for me.🙋🏻

Kay, i eat a very low carb meal. After that i put a serving of two of half n half in a cup and a a half to full cup serving of frozen fruit. Then as the fruit thaws i eat the thawed part and wait for more to thaw so I'm not taking the carbs in all at once. I'm a slow eater and multi tasker by nature so I know not everyone will have time to do this. It tastes a bit like ice cream when it's cold and some of the fruit has mixed in with the cream. Also, in addition to being lchf, I also do a 17:7 intermittent fast.

That should read "a serving OR two"

Smprowett, I'm glad you've found what works for you. I've found i just don't care about processed carbs unless there is some sugar in them so I'm mostly okay without bread and the like.

150# is about what I’ve lost total, in 10 years. WOE for me is very similar gram wise, and just out of curiosity, what is 17:7, and how does fasting help?

Very possible! My body does not do well on high carbs. They affect me tremendously, in a negative way. I now heavily restrict them and have reversed many health issues I was starting to deal with, and I feel tons better. Not everyone needs to do that, I'll never push my way in anyone, but I know what works for me and part of that is low carb. Good luck to you too!

I stop eating before seven at night and don't eat anything else until around noon the next day. For lchf it gives your body time to clear out your glycogen stores and begin to burn fat for your energy. For people who count calories there's the premise that if your eating window is smaller, you will eat less. It's not a stretch for me though because i didn't eat late at night anyway and i don't start to get hungry till 11 or even later. Before i head my son, I lost between 150-180 pounds on low carb then i listened to a dietician when i got pregnant who told me it would hurt my baby if i ate low carb. I know now she didn't know what she was talking about but then i was afraid to take the chance of hurting him so i went back to eating carbs. This time no chance of getting pregnant so i can take care of me :-)

I was vegetarian when I got pregnant with my first. And, I had always IF, but was told that would hurt baby. So, I literally ate for 2🤦🏻‍♀️ 335#, and I didn’t recognize myself. My dad told me I was scaring people in the community. I needed help. I don’t know how I ever got here from there, but we’re actually trying to get pregnant again with #4, and I’m going to have a thin and fit pregnancy NO MATTER WHAT 💪🏻 I’m a very serious carb addict and I feel free for the first time in my life. Cheers to you!

I will always love eating at night, but I feel so much happier when I wake up with an empty stomach!

Yeah, I like the feeling of cold water entering an empty stomach. Oh and i do drink lots of water so that probably staves off some morning hunger.

seriously, if I buy shredded wheat I can't stop eating it, or doritos or chips. I never seem to be satisfied so if I have those, I know it won't end up well lol

For me it’s homemade bread! Oh, man! I had to stop baking entirely! Only make rolls occasionally for family now. Like Kay I eat all night. I’m bad in once I open my mouth I can’t stop. But going low carb and now fasting and Fast Mimicking for multiple days per month seems to be really helping some of my long term help problems. (Like autoimmunes!)🙋🏻

I'm really glad things are improving for you!
