christinademello's Journal, 21 February 2017

I need some advice from you guys. First here is a little bit about me and what i am doing:

-I take 3 different medications for depression and ADHD (Zoloft, Wellbutrin, Adderall). I just started taking Wellbutrin and it has been less than a month.

-I take a ton of vitamins and herbal supplements

-I try to keep my calories under 1500 a day

-I have a 40-hour desk job

-I have a 15-hour Retail sales floor job

-I am starting back up full time in college in April (Mentioning this cause time is limited)

-I just got engaged so slowly planning a wedding for end of next year

-I am working on a blog that hasn't seen a lot of my attention lately

So lately, my whole body just aches and feel sore but I don't work out. I can't seem to "find the time" to work out or I am "too tired" and rather nap when I get home from work. I really want to be at 130lb by the end of the year but also be on my way of toning up. I don't want a quick fix, I want a lifestyle change that I can keep to. I tend to ignore my hunger during the day since I can focus on my work and Adderall takes away my hunger. I am extremely defiant in iron and victim d but I just started working on fixing that. So I guess what I am asking is, what do I do. What habits can I start to create that will help me continue this path. I need help....

Realistically, it sounds like you need sleep. You have a lot on your plate! Good luck with it all, and congrats on the engagement!

I sleep from 10pm to 6am. I get roughly 8 hours every night! I never let anything get inbetween me and my lovely bed!

I agree with Kp, lack of sleep messes with hormones, diet emotions and it almost all comes back to inflammation which is...pain. Nagging, won't go away until you fix its cause, pain. Your young and can make it all work but sometimes the consequences come later (sometimes sooner!) congratulations on your up coming wedding, you have much to look foreword to! :)

If you do all of that and get plenty of sleep, you are Superwoman! We should all be asking you questions! As far as the weight goes, it's often said on this site that weight loss is 90% diet. Exercise can help, though exercising can also make your body more efficient at holding on to calories, so some find that to be a double-edged sword. Extreme vitamin D deficiency can cause bone pain and fatigue. That takes time to fix, so stick with those supplements and keep getting your D levels tested over time. Good luck with everything!

Make sure you are drinking enough water. So important. Also take 1 TBSP of hemp oil per day. My husband swears by it!

I went through a period of being very very iron deficient, taking care of that made the most amazing difference in every aspect of my life. My energy increased, my focus increased, my mood improved...everything. You get that back in line and you may really see a change.

It sounds like you've been seeing a doctor, but have they checked your thyroid? Total exhaustion and aches all over are how I feel when my thyroid is out of wack. Ignoring your hunger during the day also sounds like it would contribute to being exhausted. 1500 calories is a great target, but eating "less than 1500" doesn't really indicate if you're eating enough -- on top of that, you need to eat the right stuff. You need some carbs, fat, and protein during the day to keep you sustainably energized. Get your diet and overall well being in check and you'll have more energy.

Yoga, the kind of exercise you can do anywhere without props or changing, perfect for wedding sexy arms.

Ditto. +5 min light aerobic helps me before bed 3x per week and a 20min 2xs. Works for me. Thanks for sharing.

The vitamin D deficiency alone will cause tiredness. You may well improve as you address that situation.

I'm with Sarah, yoga is really helping me to not only lose weight, but it has made my whole body feel better. I have a desk job as well, so I sit all day. Yoga kills me at first, but then once I get warmed up it feels great. You can go as basic or complex as you want. I've only been at it for about a month, but my flexibility has improved a lot as I am noticing that the positions are getting easier to do.

Don't ignore hunger instead eat something - like raw carrots or celery. I know that sounds yuck but it really is better than nothing. Your body will store fat if you don't eat because it will think you are starving it. I cut out fats and sugars but try to always eat something for each meal even if it is a low fat yogurt. This site is wonderful in planning your food intake and how it spreads out over fats carbs and sugars etc. There is a calculation for how much of each you can eat and still lose weight. I wish you all the best. Losing weight for some of us is just harder than others.

Your plate runneth over, dear! I always had more "to do" in my days, than hours in the day most of my life. You have a total right to be feeling tired and some of that may be vitamin D and Iron, but also just too much to do in a day. One thing I learned was how to power nap-15 minutes at a time and still do this today when needed. I took any opportunity (breaks, lunch) to do fast walking and yoga has been a mainstay in my life for many years (started to maintain flexibility with Lupus). Yoga does more than help with flexibility, it's strengthens your core and works many muscles at the same time. There are different ideas out there about "exercise." Exercise doesn't have to occur only in a gym or a planned program. For example, every time I have to go downstairs, I go up and down 5 times rapidly. For years I had to incorporate segments of exercise (one job I traveled about 300-400 miles a day) into my day. So, I guess in a nutshell, I am trying to suggest working your exercise and rest in smaller segments throughout your busy day. I hope it might be helpful.

Thank you everyone for your advice! I have had my thyroid checked and it is fine. As far as yoga, where are some good videos or books on it since I know nothing!

I don't know what is out there. I took lessons and asked tons of questions in the beginning. It's good to know what muscle groups you are using and FORM and BREATHING is the most important! That's why I'm glad I had professional advice in the beginning. There has to be a ton of good information on the Internet.

There are a TON of free yoga videos on YouTube. Try out some different styles - I rather like Vinyasa, and there's a lady that does free classes on Vinyasa on Youtube. Let's see if I can add the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEDlkBi8uwI&index=2&list=PLl1cayOnNdIlU3NbxfSOtWYeWJywZQwdY If nothing else, you can copy & paste it into your browser. Good luck!

reading your list, most of them seem like you must keep them. But the blog...? I would drop it for now. The engagement alone will consume you and obviously work you cannot drop. The vitamins are great. I like the yoga idea others recommended. it's great for your peace.
