How does it taste?

I can get behind your ingredients. I'm a believer in feeding your gut bacteria as well as yourself to achieve good health, and a lot of these foods are great for that.

Yes how does it taste?

it tastes delicious! very tasty! of course that assumes we are not addicted to sweetness. But, without the overwhelming sweetness of most break-fast cereals, we can taste more subtle wonderful mixes of the ingredients, making a delightful taste not expected at all.

try bulkfoods.com for inexpensive high quality sources for many things, including the Spirulina, Dried kelp, Magnesium citrate, nutritional yeast & cinnamon. All very important for this meal. :)

I've had similar thoughts about pemmican, though I've yet to experiment with it.

My mom made a mincemeat pie for Christmas. I said, "oh, look, pemmican!" You would think I had a Manx triskelion coming out of my forehead.

I had to look up pemmican, thinking it was mostly meat. Guess not. There is zero meat in this superfood meal, but PLENTY of high quality protein. Here is a list of calories, etc of this mornings superfood steel cut oats meal: Sod 652, Fat 33g Carbs 114, Fiber 24.6, Prot 55.47, Calories 925 and that Fiber is also very important, helping to prevent celiac disease, aid digestion, Soluble fiber may help to slow your body's breakdown of carbohydrates and the absorption of sugar, helping with blood sugar control, maintaining regularity, research shows that those eating a high-fiber diet have a 40 percent lower risk of heart disease, and for every seven-grams more fiber you consume on a daily basis, your stroke risk is decreased by 7 percent. Fiber has been shown to enhance weight loss among obese people. Fiber, particularly psyllium husk, may help move yeast and fungus out of your body, preventing them from being excreted through your skin where they could trigger acne or rashes. fiber (especially insoluble) may reduce your risk of diverticulitis – an inflammation of your intestine – by 40 percent. A high-fiber diet may lower your risk of hemorrhoids. A high-fiber diet may reduce the risk of gallstones and kidney stones, likely because of its ability to help regulate blood sugar. Spirulina is used by Nasa for astronauts and they appropriately name it a super food, containing a large amount of much needed B vitamins, chlorophyll for cleansing the blood, and Just one 3-gram serving, for instance, contains: 60% protein and an excellent source of vitamins A, K1, K2, B12 and iron, manganese and chromium. A rich source of health-giving phytonutrients such as carotenoids, GLA, SOD and phycocyanin. 2800% more beta-carotene than carrots. 3900% more iron than spinach. So, why not eat this breakfast?????

I do, every day. :) It's the main secret along with exercise for my excellent health and weight for my age. No bags under my eyes. I always feel light, agile, strong and healthy, especially for my age of 73.

BTW This Superfood meal tastes just the right amount of sweetness.

I always thought pemmican was just another name for beef jerky until I gave it some research. Your breakfast looks pretty good, Bill and looks like a great start for anyone in maintenance.

So it's like a thick, green, hyper nutritious oatmeal?

Yes, and I prefer the taste when I use Steel cut oats instead of rolled oats. noticeably different. This morning I added Quinoa. Happy New Year!

I love the color. Does it have typical oatmeal consistency when it's cool? Would be awesome if it set up firmer.
