da da da da da da da da da da, da da da da da da da da da da
DA da daaaaaa, Da da daaaaaaa, Da da daaaaa

Everyone sing along with me now (it's the Rocky them if you can't tell)

I went walking, I went running, I went to the gym and worked the weights for an hour and then I ran home. Ha!

The gym was practically empty-people stayed home to watch the Lakers lose I guess-did they lose? I hope they did. Is that mean? I hope it is. I like to be mean about the Lakers.

Anyhoo, I did 20 mins each on legs, arms and abs. 4 sets each exercise. Felt pretty pretty good. Is this the beginning of a miracle? Will I go back? Well yes I will! Although I must say it's full of sexist pigs that eye women like they are concubines in a slave market. I overheard some of the "staff" talking about a woman in a way that made my blood boil. I should have said something but didn't. Shame on me.

Feeling ill since yesterday too-so hope this new found vigor snaps me out of it.

Have a short but very busy week ahead. Friday we are getting the house tented for friggin' termites (don't ask) so we are driving North with the beast and renting a house on the rocky coast for the memorial weekend. Cannot wait but so much to do before then. Have to pack up all the food, vitamins, hidden chocolate, etc. and try to protect my garden from the deadly gas Oh and I have to do my job too. We tried to go orange oil but everyone says they are only good for one type of pest and we have two types. Yuch.

Great thing about going up North-it's lots of hiking the cliffs and tide pool exploring and watching the beast body surf. He LOVES water more than any dog I've ever had. He will even stand on a surf board. He doesn't get to go to the ocean often here (no dog beach) so he will be in beast heaven this weekend.

GREAT job on the exercise, Girl! Sorry you're not feeling well. Hope you feel better soon! Sounds like you have a hectic week coming up but the weekend on the coast sounds really nice. Hope you have a good time there. Beast will definitely have some fun! Then you'll come back to a termite-less house! BTW, thanks for the comment on my journal. :) Keep up the good work!

Love the energy in your journal! How do you manage it even when feeling ill? I need your secret. Have a great week, Ms. Rocky!

Ugh! Just reading your comments about hearing men talking about women put me right back in my office. I used to work at a hedge fund and it was as if the women were there solely for the eye candy factor. Such a sexist world--aside from its other evils. Once the guys got used to me being there, they would talk in front of me while interviewing women or if a temp came in and it would seriously make me INSANE. Anyway--great work! Hiking cliffs sounds great. Would love to get out in nature myself.

When I was in college I lived in an off-campus student apartment building. I had a wireless phone and sometimes I would pick it up to make a phone call only to hear someone else on the channel. One day I picked it up and I heard these two guys talking. One of them was talking about his date and how she was "stacked" and the other one asked if he "scored", the other one replied that he only got to "second base". It was hard not to laugh really hard, I was thinking "OMG, guys actually talk to each other like THIS!!!" I finally hung up and changed the channel, but I felt like was in a bad teen comedy.

Lol-at least they used PG language. What I heard was really degrading. It's still bothering me that I let it go.

oh! i almost missed this journal, i was outta town... anyway so glad you joined us at the gym, :D too bad you overheard their bs... im sure your mind was more occupied w/ the weights, if it still bothers you next time you go tell someone. i would too. ive been meaning to ask about the moving out for a little issue, not to bring it up but i was hoping all was done already... it will be over soon and hey a vacation for you and beast will become of it! Hubby too?

Yes Spousal Unit and the stepson. I am really looking forward to it! The cat-we call him "stiffie" (don't ask!) is boarding at the vet. I think I am overdoing the "move out" part. They say I can double bag the food in plastic but I am too nervous to do it. Rather have it out of the house.

Gosh you are doing fantastic... 141 lbs!! I remember when you thought you would never make it out of the 160's... Sounds like you busy too, and still battling termintes (weren't you dealing with those pests over a month ago). Anway you will look great exploring those tide pools and hiking trails, you've done a great job sticking with it.

At my gym they actually have rules against that kind of talk. I agree that you should mention it to someone. It actually does fall into the scope of "harassment" even if you are just overhearing it... I would remove the food too. Why bother buying organic if you end up poisoning yourself with bug spray. Err on the safe side.

well, you just cheered me up! maybe it was the rocky song, or maybe it was picturing the BEAST body surfing, or maybe it was your happy skippin-around-la-la-all over the place attitude! All I know is that your upbeat behavior is commendable! hi-five buddy!! now, have fun at the rental place with Beastie!! DIE, LITTLE TERMITES, DIE!
