Hermiones Mom's Journal, 05 October 2014

I am just a big disaster today. With all the partying this week/weekend -- I ate a bunch of stuff I should never have eaten, and I am so paying for it. My body is just not able to tolerate all the stuff I could have eaten even 12 weeks ago. Maybe this is a good thing -- I mean maybe, maybe I have learned my lesson. I barely made it through a much anticipated production of Sweeney Todd this afternoon before I had to be chained to the bathroom for about 3 hours. What a drag.

Awww...it is never worth it when it makes us feel so uncomfortable!

HCB you are so right. The crazy part about this is that I knew I had eaten too much -- but I didn't really think that WHAT I had eaten was so bad that it would cause such an uproar in my innards. The only really bad thing was one chicken enchilada with a corn tortilla and a few corn chips -- and normally I don't eat any corn at all. But everything else was some kind of grilled protein. However there were sauces of various kinds, and that might have done it. I don't know. I just know that someone should tie me to a chair and gag me before I make this mistake again.

Boy, I can SOOOOOOOO sympathize! I keep convincing myself this is all nonsense. Then I pay. How many times do we have to go through this before we accept that not eating certain foods is not a fad, at least for us. I don't usually get internal problems. I get various types of pain, but it's all the same thing. Some of us can't eat all foods. Be well!

Hope you feel better, Les. Ugh!

I can relate ... all too well! Mine is usually fluid retention which is caused by bad things going on in my gut, I am sure. We need to learn, right? How was Sweeney Todd? (Hope you feel better). Hugs!

Mom2Boxers -- Sweeney Todd was fabulous. I was really a bit worried about it because I had just seen the Lincoln Center concert version last week, and it was so spectacular that I was worried I would be disappointed in this production. But it was amazing. Plus we sat behind Rick Bayless and his wife (do you know who he is? -- won top chef masters the first year), so I felt I was watching in the presence of a star...

Very cool. Are you feeling better?

Helewis -- I got through yesterday OK, and I tried to eat normally, since that's the advice I've been given. I won't really know if this approach worked for 24 hours, as that seems to be the schedule my system works on. We'll see...

Can I just say I hate this for you? :( This is nonsense. I would say I'd eat vicariously for you but that just seems cruel. I hope you get to feeling better quick like.

And what was it that you were hating me for Anewannie? seeing Sweeney Todd or learning the hard way that I can no longer party?

Lol, no, I wasn't hating you, I was hating this digestive situation FOR you. ;)

Oh gosh Anewannie -- I completely misread your comment. I guess now my eyes are going along with my digestion!
