Hermiones Mom's Journal, 07 October 2014

I seem to have recovered a bit today. I ate normally yesterday - within the framework of what I am supposed to be eating. Today I have already had some salad, and I hope that I don't pay for that. The thing is, my sister and I went to have lunch with an old friend of my mom's. The friend lives in a lovely retirement community and she is now too frail to go out. So we ate in the community's diningroom. The lunch entrée choices were grilled cheese and beef sandwich or make your own deli sandwich -- none of which I can eat. So my choice was-- eat nothing and embarrass our friend or eat salad. I opted for salad with a piece of cheese. By the time I got home at 3:30, I was starving. So I made a second lunch -- which guarantees that I won't fall over from hunger during Hermione's agility class but wasted a lot of calories! On the other hand, it was late enough in the afternoon, that I can probably get away with a very light dinner after agility. Maybe I'll make some egg whites then -- bump up my protein for the day without going over the calorie limit.

Helewis -- I'm running around the agility ring with Carson or Hermione twice weekly. Tomorrow is Carson's turn. He's starting to get the hang of it -- he knows how to do all the obstacles, but he still forgets he's supposed to be doing them WITH me in a set sequence. I think he has ADHD.
