I am a wife, mother of one, and oldest sister of five. I am from the South and, of course, we love to So here I am.

I've been overweight since adolescence. Now at 26 and really for the first time in my life, I am fearful of my health. I started this diet to combat some of those feelings and so far it's okay. I am hoping that the support and structure of this site will give me the confidence and willpower that I need to get down to a new, healthier me. :)

Looking forward to this long journey.

UPDATE: 6/24/2014
So it's been nearly 5 years since I started all of this. Now I'm 31 and have 2 children. On average, I run about 12 miles a week and try to count calories when I have a second. I've lost a grand total of 122 lbs and I still have 13 lbs to get to my original goal. This last bit has been the most challenging of all (I take back all the times I thought that smaller people with a little to lose were just complainers). Now I know's what's left of my goals. I feel like each lb should be celebrated with it's own entry but I won't bore you to death. :)

159 - FINALLY made it to the 150s!!! - MET 8/22/2014
155 - 5 lbs to go - MET 10/24/2014

Yep Bill, that's exactly what I do. I wish I could do it all on one site but the food database is so robust on FS, I just can't leave here. lol What needs to happen is for FS to buy the Fitbit company!

And I'll add that basically the whole reason I do that is so that I can count my caloric deficit for the week...

I do something similar to Draglist except I use a custom activity of "living" with a 24 hour time span and then I enter the total amount of calories that the Fitbit said I burned in that day (I wear my fitbit 24/7). That way I don't have to sort out which activities I did and get it to all add up correctly.

k8yk, those are fabulous pics!!! You were beautiful to start with but now you just look down right sexy. You go girl! Smile Thanks for being an inspiration to me. It's been almost a year since I started my weight loss and sometimes I feel like I'm never going to get there but I have to remind myself that if I want to change my life it must happen over time. This is the only honest way to do things. Thank you for reminding me to give myself a break. And for reminding me to stay focused in order to finish this. You are amazing.
