DAY 2 OF BOOT CAMP

Processed Carbs-first thing had a slice of wheat toast. Dang! It was a choice influenced by sheer laziness!
Refined Sugar-None so far.....have two flakes staring at me-sending them off with stepson to college.
Exercise-15 mins of calisthenics so far. Will do cardio later today.

Having a hard time getting into the routine. Have to go shopping to get some legal foods. Cauliflower, broccoli, shrimp, hummus, apples, sugar free fudgesicles to help me with the sweet tooth that has grown to gargantuan proportions. I have to push the monster back into it's cave and roll the boulder back.

Alcohol is not considered refined sugar BUT there is a theory floating out there re: how alcohol shares same addictive qualities as sugar and that alcoholism is correlated with high sugar diets. Hmmm-that's a can of worms I'd rather not open at the moment. I know it's empty calories though and it's gotta go. I'll miss you Margarita!

We all need to re-focus now that the holidays are over. I just know that eventually this will all become habit and we will be so happy with our new healthy eating style that we will never gain weight back again...and next Christmas holiday time we will not gain weight. You and I will both reach the goal weight we have set for ourselves this year for sure! That's my story and Im sticking to it!

Good job saying "Adios" to margaritas. Another source for sugar anyway since margarita mixes are sugar based. Nice job in shopping for legal foods. It's nice to open up the fridge and being able to eat anything in it! I splurged and bought a fresh veggie platter for "instant eats" during football playoffs this weekend. Got a wonderful pot of pinto beans & Andouille Sausage Stew simmering on the stove for dinner. Recipe from Eating Well magazine, Feb-09 issue.

I think you did a good job today! It's hard to change everything immediately. Keep trying and it will be easier and easier! You know, I don't want to hurt your feelings or anything, but Margarita has moved on. She didn't like you that much anyway! ;)
