How cutting down on diet soda helped me:
It happened to me the same, I cut down on soda and drink more water (1,5 liters per day) and my stomach feels more light, and I started to reduce; there´s no matter if it's diet or regular, sodas don't help to lose weight.

Eating before or after a workout
Normally I eat after workout (well it's not a hard workout) but I run for 40 minutes every morning, after that I take breakfast (strawberry's yogurt and light bread), It's enough for me, and obviouslly I add diet cheese to the bread. In my first two weeks I lost 1 Kg and I feel that I'm going in a good way.
