Challenge Excepted
Myself and a long-long time friend were having a phone conversation about where we were in life which quickly migrated to health as we were both in our 50's. Through that interaction I realized that my self assessment of where I was was off by more than a little upon comparing weight, fitness and diet. I stepped on the scale after miss reporting my weight to find I was 20lbs off from what I thought my weight was. If I was wrong about that, what else had I allowed myself to believe about my fitness lifestyle that was incorrect? I've been here before so I knew what I had to do. So now the journey begins. Weight training (No stranger to me), consistent cardio(I hate it), Low Sugar, Low Carb, high protein and fat (Big adjustment). However change does not happen without consistent, dedicated action. All some of us need is a nudge, sometimes an aggressive push in the right direction. I think its different when you are advancing in age. You have far less to prove to others and way more to prove to yourself. Quality of life and longevity depends on everything you do. 6'-4" 275lbs to 242lbs and working toward another 5 to 7 lb. loss. Diet in check as compared to what it was 8 months ago. It can no longer be a short term goal but a lifestyle. Won't work any other way.
