I'm 30 years old and single. All through college I was around 100 pounds, but over just a couple years I gained over 50. As a result, I spent most of my 20s totally self-conscience and miserable. When I turned 30, I decided that I wasn't going to waste my 30s in the same way.
I have a few big hurdles to overcome. First, I'm lazy. I love to read, and watch TV and movies. So in addition to watching what I eat, I'm also trying to be more active. Second, I'm a grazer. I like to snack; unfortunately not on fruits and veggies. Third, I'm really into instant gratification. I want to see results immediately!! So I know that I'm going to have to be more patient.
I'm hoping that I finally have enough motivation for myself to get past these hurdles and exercise some self-control and discipline. I'm slowly getting myself into the mindframe that even though I might enjoy those cheese fries now (mmm... cheese fries!), I'll enjoy being at my goal weight even more!

Okay to Skip Meals?
Right now I'm watching the Atkins DVD - Atkins Complete Fast, Easy & Healthy (I got it at the library). One of the 'success stories' said that she sometimes skips lunch because she's just not hungry. If that were such a bad thing, I doubt they would have included it in the video.
