Today was a bit of a nasty day, food-wise. No exercise (Saturday is always a rest day for me) and ate far too much nonsense--Bienenstich, double chocolate cookies, grilled cheese sandwich . . . At least the rest was, for the mostpart, healthy and I was on my feet for a large part of the day.
It JUST occurred to me this evening that I've failed to deduct calories from nursing. Since I'm still breastfeeding, an extra five hundred calories are lost a day. I'm still extremely uncertain how many calories I actually need to consume in general.
Also, I spoke with a nutritionist who suggested that I minimize cardio workouts and increase time spent lifting weights to build up muscle mass. However, I'm taking that with a grain of salt, considering I have a half-marathon to run in October and am rather fond of running and bicycling now. Plus, I'm starting a new lift regime on Monday, so I'll wait and see how that develops.
I was extremely excited to find a Crossfit gym around here. However, the membership fee is a hundred and twenty five dollars a month, so there's no way that's going to happen any time soon.

I finally bought myself a bicycle, along with an attachable child's seat. Not only do I now lack an excuse to be physically more active, but munchkin absolutely adores riding along with me. However, pedaling up a steep hill with an extra twenty five pounds of weight must deserve some sort of recognition. One wouldn't assume that it would be much more work, but the extra weight will definitely take some getting used to. Luckily, the weather is perfect for being outdoors.
I've also been able to run a bit today, though the tendons are still a bit sore so I limited it to only a mile-long run. It felt so good to be back on my feet again, though.

Today feels like a stuff-your-face kind of day. Haven't had those in a while. Eh, it's deserved.
On the plus side, my tendons are finally feeling much better after having to take a break for nearly a week. I can't wait to go running tomorrow!
