Anyone dealing with exercize-induced amenorrhea?
Yes this happened to me about 3-4 years ago I think. At the time, I was doing Weight Watchers and running A LOT. Suddenly, I noticed I was missing my period (after losing close to 30 pounds).. I panicked and basically started eating more & cut down on the running and it came back eventually. I was without my period for about 3-4 months total. It took a month for it to come back.
It's basically from not enough calories, my reproductive organs shutdown. I literally was in "starvation mode", even though I wasn't underweight. I reached about 138 lbs.

over exercising?
Pureheiress, Yes definitely. Maybe not right away, but if you continue to exercise 3 hrs/day AND drastically limit your calories, you can easily end up losing your period which is unhealthy! It happened to me some years ago (and I wasn't working out 3 hrs/day).

RDI
I like to use this other method:
If you want to weigh 150 lbs (my goal), eat about 1500 cals. (Multiply weight by 10 )
Eat more if you exercise..e.g. if you burn 300 cals , go ahead and eat up to 1800 on that day.
You will only hurt yourself if you're feeling constantly hungry, tired, eating less than 1200, and getting obsessive & crazy
