I’m a 45 year old female with an awesome husband and son. I gave up a great career 4 years ago in software training to home school my son. A choice I have never regretted but has had challenges financially. It has brought us extremely close as a family.

My son now 14 yrs old is more independent and I find myself bored and eating. I tried Atkins before with much success but for me the problem is usually maintenance. The first time I tried Atkins I got into what was a trap for me; staying in Induction for 5 months because the fat melted off. The food got boring; variety in foods got difficult. There is so much more variety out there for low carbers I think this time is going to be different. This time I promise to follow through completely. Who knows, at my age I may find a great new job to fill my time.

New here..anyone have any advice??
During induction make sure you have prepared foods ready to eat and meals that are ready to go in minutes. It makes life easier. Be creative with your meals so you don't get bored. Drink lots of water and never allow yourself to get hungry.
Good Luck!

Breakfast time
I ate leftovers from dinner. I'd make sure there was enough for breakfast: chicken bacon wrap w/cheese, steak, whatever. I did not eat a traditional breakfast because it got boring but I stayed within the guidelines.

You know I'm having the same issue but I know I do it because of stress.

Eat Fats, Get Skinny?
I incorporated Glenn’s tip on reducing calories. I reduced them by reducing the fat. I am experiencing a quick dramatic weight loss in less than 1 week. I weighed myself today and in 6 days 10 lbs. I have never heard of Kimkins until today and it's close to what I did, lowered the fat. Atkins is what I know and will stick to, but I agree this appears to be a spin off.
