I'm a big guy. have been big since about 2nd grade. Lost down to a decent size (195 lbs) while in high school, but in college went up and down between that and 220. When I got married I weighed around 195 again. Then slowly over the last 22 years I managed to achieve an all time high of 365 to 370 lbs. I was feeling pretty bad. My blood pressure was regularly 155/90 and my sugar was borderline right at a 100. My cholesterol wasn't high (165), but the triglycerides were high and my good cholesterol was really low. That was back in the middle of July. Doc said she's give me 6 months to lose weight and bring those numbers down or it was meds to help me cope. I worked out 3 times a week usually, but not always. I then decided it was time for a lifestyle change. Not a diet, but a change where I controlled my portions, ate good and exercised regularly. After 2 weeks of that and a return trip to doc I had lost about 20 lbs. I officially started this lifestyle change August 1, 2007. Now seven months later I've lost around 58 lbs. My blood pressure is fairly normal averaging 128/78 and I feel tons better. Lately I've had some back injury issues, but I continue to steadily lose. My goal is to be as close to 270 by July as I can so I can attend the amusement park and ride the rides with my youth groups kids. At the present rate of 8 to 10lbs a month I should be there no problems. Once there I plan to keep it up and will hopefully someday see 220 or less again!
