Nanoose Bay, B.C is my locale; removed from all the evil stuff going on in the world.
I am a retired tug master that led a pretty sedentary lifestyle; which was my fault.
Now I'm retired at 76; born 1940 Salford England (a war baby) and probably healthier than I was back in my heavy alcohol consuming days.
This last weekend I bought a Garmin fitness tracker and so far this little device seems to motivate me even further. I have been going to the gym three times a week for over eight years except for the summer when I take three months off and swim almost every day.
Edit 2/11/22: Garmin broke long ago. I now have a Samsung Galaxy watch coupled to a Samsung S9+ phone and it keeps a good record of my hikes and steps plus other stuff like heart beat (although not to accurate sometimes), water intake and more; maybe a bit over kill with stuff I'll never use.

Fatsecret free versus paid or pro
Anyone out there have the paid or pro Fatsecret? I'm curious on the benefits of going pro.

Quick calorie
I don't know if this is what you want, but if you go to add food in the blank, there is a link down below "add new food". I think there you can add the nutrition values for your food/recipe.
I am a pro member of Myfitnesspal and on there you can add quick calories (a neat feature).

Sugars
Since starting this enlightening calorie and nutrition watch the only part I am always over are sugars. I do not eat sweets. The only actual sugar I have is 9gm's in one tablespoon of Blackstrap molasses with my morning porridge; the rest is from fruit.
I can't imagine what those with a sweet tooth or Pepsi drinkers is.
My recommended goal is 50gm sugar. Oh yeah I have a square of Bakers unsweetened chocolate.
To follow recommended nutrition I would only be allowed one or two fruits a day hmmmm.

Quick calorie
Is there a way to just enter calories. For example my wife makes an oatmeal + lots of walnuts cookie to die for. It's difficult to ascertain the nutrients of. I figure 150 calories; anyway to just enter same into my food diary?
