Got back on the horse today. I was suffering some fairly serious hunger in the evening, but was able to ride it out and stay under my calorie goal. It usually takes about a week to become comfortable, but I figured today was a pretty good start.

Happy New Years, FS buddies!
I'm back in Japan and ready to start the new year. I'm absolutely shocked to find myself just over a pound and a half heavier than when I left. Eating in restaurants every day meant very high calorie counts. I figured I'd be up somewhere between three and five pounds. The redemption was that nearly all my meals were lunches. I would eat a large meal in the afternoon and then find that I wasn't hungry in the evening. I guess it was a combination of jet lag and that I'm not used to overeating for the past couple months.
Anyway, the next challenge is summoning the discipline to get back on the diet. Wish me luck!

Pleased to hit a new low (even by such a small amount), but from here it kind of falls apart for a couple of weeks. I've got to attend two dinner parties this week and then I'm off for ten days in the U.S. The plan is to try to continue recording what I eat and try to stay below 3000 calories a day -- not that easy when you're eating out of restaurants -- then do my very best to get back on the program when I return in January.

I finally made it through an entire day on target. All week I've started out strong, but gave in to temptation in the evening. I will feel much better about myself if I can manage to stay on track for this final week. Wish me luck.

Felt like I was on the edge of falling off the tracks all day today. I bought a pack of tortilla chips to have with my dinner, but ended up eating far too many of them for lunch. I was able to control another couple of temptations and ended up less than 100 calories over my target.
I've got 10 days left before I leave for the States. I really want to stay on course until then.
