Well, I finally got into the diet mode. For more than a year, I've been asking Drs. why my stomach makes me look pregnant. I was sure I had a tumor and worried a lot about it. Had ultrasounds, etc. that showed all ok inside my abdomen. Finally, I had an abdominal catscan. It shows I have recti diastasis. I had never heard of this but now know it means your main stomach muscles have split apart letting your abdomen stick out. It happens in women that have twins, and pregnant women. I had 6 children in 8 years time years ago without this happening but I must have lifted something to cause this to finally separate. I am 84 and don't like this look at all. Even though I am my age, I don't look it and I have a lot of pride in myself still. Now, my goal is to finally get rid of the 22 # on me I shouldn't have and see if that relieves the heaviness in my stomach and back and pelvic aches I have at times. My Dr. said that this will never go away even if I get thin (which I will not)and if I get thin it will stick out more. I have to wear loose clothes all of the time. This protruding stomach is not only embarrassing but I can't wear fitting clothes. Anyway, I think I finally might stick to the weight loss even though I never have been able to trust myself.

Still cant get into it. Now Thanksgiving food. My husband loves junk food and always brings home chips, cookies and candy. I told him not to bring home my favorite cookies,...macadamia nut cookies. He didn't know what they were, but brought home 12 fresh ones. I probably ate 8 of the 12. It is hard for me to eat what I am supposed to eat while he is eating Doritos, etc. I succumb easily to these. Oh well, I'll try after Thanksgiving again. I never give up. I never had a stomach like I have now. I had 6 children in 8 years and never weighed over 140# and went down to normal size of 125-130. When we married, I weighed 130 and my husband was 127. He was too thin. He was trying to gain weight with muscle drinks, etc. I fought to keep my weight. Am rambling on here as I tend to do. Whoever reads this, have a Happy Thanksgiving and remember that the important thing here is to count our many blessings and don't ostracize ourselves about out weight this special day. I'm going to eat what I want and "start dieting tomorrow",.....which I've said for years.

Well, I am up again. Had a big food day yesterday as it was our 63rd anniversary. We went for a nice drive then to a nice dinner. This weekend, our son and his wife will be here and I have to eat meals that have fat in them again. They are all thin. My problem is that my weight is carried mainly in belly fat. I thought I had a tumor growing in me and I had an abdominal cat scan, tests for gall bladder, liver, kidneys and every test relating. My rib cage hurts due to the size of my stomach. The rest of me looks good,....as I always get compliments. These people don't notice that I wear loose tops concealing my stomach. Lucky, these tops have been the style. I'm just ranting on here, venting, but I guess this is what this journal is all about. I joined the older group and with their help, and this site, maybe I can stick to it this time. I had 6 children and never looked as pregnant as I do now. When I sit, it is shoved up into my rib cage and hurts. Now, you all know my problem. This added weight causes me other health problems, too. I hope everyone has a good "rest of the week"
