Holding steady on the weight and looking forward to a short vacation next week! I am so excited to get away and the chance to knock a ride on a steam locomotive, narrow gauge train ride through the mountains off my bucket list is so exciting! It should be beautiful and the weather should be close to perfect!

So, my blood test results came back. My blood sugar numbers were great - 5.0 and 91. My Triglycerides were halved and are lower than they have ever been (84). My HDL was higher than it has ever been (93, an increase of over 33%). Now to explain to my doctor why I don't need any meds (statins) to "correct" my cholesterol numbers. My LDL was around what it has been in the past and should go down the longer I eat keto; so I am just in a wait and see mode. It was funny to look at the advice the health website offered up to correct my naturally occurring LDL cholesterol numbers. My BMI and blood pressure were also the lowest they have been since 2014 (when they started tracking).

All in all, a great week behind me and an exciting one ahead of me. I just need to get through this week and then I am on vacation until after Labor Day. Woohoo! Have a great week everyone!

No change to weight this week. I had my company blood test this morning, so the results of that will tell me if what I am doing is the right thing for me. Back to intermittent fasting with a Keto lunch and early dinner for the rest of the week. I might fast Thursday, Friday, and into Saturday - I will decide on Wednesday.

I will start my "eat to satiety" regimen rather than the gotta get to RDI or higher on feasting days as I worked on getting my metabolism back on track. That has been hard for me - I often find myself looking for things to boost my fat grams and then I feel a little miserable (stuffed). It will be nice to just relax a little about my eating on non-fasting days. After being fat-adapted for so long, I feel that I will be able to burn through my body fat a little quicker with fewer calories.

I have been watching so many videos and listening to so many podcasts from experts on diet, fasting, and keto that I feel a little overwhelmed with information. I am hoping to read my copy of Dr. Fung's "Complete Guide to Fasting" and call it good for a while. I already read the "Obesity Code" which really helped me understand why I have been this way most of my adult life (overweight with yo-yo dieting and no long term results). If that blood test comes back with low blood sugar levels and reasonable cholesterol/triglycerides I will know that what I am eating is right for me. That would be awesome!!

I completed another 44-hour water/coffee fast this week. I am now in IF feasting mode for the next twelve days. I did very well on the fast, but was more hungry than is typical for a fast. The health benefits continue to astonish me as I have seen a reduction in inflammation in my joints (I don't feel my age anymore!!) and my loose skin is starting to recede.

I am re-committed to the gym. I have been distracted lately in my personal life, but I need to get back into my exercise routine. It helps so much. I love working out when I am fasting - I picture my body burning fat with every step and every movement that I make. It is exhilarating, really.

I am scheduled for blood work next week. I can't wait for the results. I know my blood sugar will be lower. The only question is cholesterol and I think I have that worked out, too. Olive oil will be my best friend in the coming week as I seek to increase my dietary fat percentage so that my body isn't compelled to make its own cholesterol. My triglycerides should be WAY down. Super excited about that.

It is hard to believe that I am only a couple of pounds away from what I weighed when I graduated from high school. I hope everyone has a great week and continues onward and downward!
