I have been yo-yo-ing for about 13 years, that is when I began gaining weight and eventually wound up 100 lbs overweight. In 2006 I joined Weight Watchers for the 1st time and in just over a year's time, dropped 100.4 lbs and thought I was "fixed". Over the next three years, 90 lbs found it's way back to me. I joined WW's again and in a few months lost 30 lbs. Thinking that I knew the program and could follow it on my own, I quit attending. Fast forward to May 2011. I reluctanly weigh myself for the 1st time in a long time. I weighed in at 231 lbs. Horrified, I have pledged to myself to not depend on WW for my fix this time, I have to be able to do this myself without the guilt of disappointing my meeting leader. I know that program and still have all the literature. So I am following the WW program on my own and will hold myself responsible. It's been almost 2 weeks since I made this decision again. Week 1 I weighed in at 228.6, so a 2.4 lb loss. That is about the rate I hope to follow (2 lbs per week) to meet the goal I have set for myself.

My first drastic change was to just stop eating fast food! I ate out at the "usual suspects" everyday of the week for lunch, sometimes I would even stop in the morning for breakfast and on occasion dinner too. So I went shopping and bought good healthy . I've been preparing my own meals and haven't faltered once. Remarkabley I haven't felt deprived!

That's my initial Bio though, a woman who has struggled staying on track in the past because I relied on another person to be accountable for. I think it can only happen if I hold myself fully accountable, and with the strength of the Lord, I know he will keep me in line to honor my body and self in a way He intended.

Kinect or Wii???
Thank you both! The reason I am considering one of them is just for the cardio workout. Living in the midwest the weather is always iffy and I would like to have something indoors to do when it isn't feasible outside. For instance Saturday it was 98 degrees here and for a person overweight and out of shape, taking my bike out for a ride could prove to be a horrible idea. So I stayed in for the most part. I was leaning to the Kinect for the reason of not having a controller to hold and besides that Dance Central does look like a lot of fun!

Kinect or Wii???
Are there any members using either of these game systems for a source of exercise? I am considering making a purchase and would like some feedback on the pros and cons of each as far as it relates to the "workout" games only. I have no children in the house so it is very unlikely I will ever have games to play outside the fitness realm. Just want to be sure I make the better choice in gaming systems for work out purposes.
