Youthful 51-year-old, have been very active all my life. Once I hit 50, I gave up a landscaping business that I'd owned/operated for 7 years and got a more sedentary job. Gained a few extra pounds. I'm very petite, so even a 5-lb weight gain makes a difference. Did Atkins about 10 years ago and went from 121 to 108. This time around, the weight loss is much slower, but that's ok. I'm not as impatient as I was when I was 42. =) I love to hike/backpack, walk, bicycle, yoga. Was a vegetarian from age 20-35. Generally eat very healthily, but do love carbs, which are bad for me as I am insulin resistant. Live in the Southwest and enjoy the clear blue skies, mountains, rivers, deserts...
