Hello all! Greetings from Pennsylvania! I am a 38 year old married Mom of 2 great kids! I've been south beaching on and off for the last year and a half. I've had great success with it, and some failures. but I always come back to this way of eating and living when I've fallen off the wagon!
When our family is not traveling to Canada and other "cold" places for my son's hockey tournaments, I enjoy scrapbooking, spending time with my hubby and 2 very plump cats (who should probably be on a feline version of SBDIET!) and chatting with other fatsecret buddies!

Could fasting or skipping meals help me lose weight?
I agree with what everyone is saying. skipping meals is a definate no no. If you are going to skip anything, make it your late day meal or snacking time. a good breakfast will kick up your metabolism. your body needs food to run, just like a car needs gas. just make good choices, and when you are hungry, go for a bag of carrots or a snap peas. something crunchy will get you through. pack some apples for work. it takes a while to eat one andyou'll feel full from all the fiber and it's sweet, so it takes away those cravings as well.

Veggie burgers
We eat LOTS of veggie burgers and have tried nearly every type. OUr family favorite is the Boca burgers flammers" they are soy and taste like a real burger. Just fry them in a little water. great with any topping. others we've had are morning star farms grillers, the black bean style from both companies are good, I like the tomato basil also. good stuff- lots of protein and taste like the real thing. I'm not much for the "veggie" style with all the rice/vegetable chunks in them.
too bad about he red robin! It's a restaurant much like Applebees/ruby tuesday style burger and grill joint. great burgers though. they have a king size gormet burger list and they have boca burgers as an option. I've never seen them at any other restaurant before. There's a lot of them in PA.

i hate eggs!!
I know there are others who don't like eggs either and unfortunatly that is the staple to breakfast on phase 1. but like veggies said, just mix it up with your other meals. if you don't like eggs then start of your day with a salad, or cheese stick and low fat sausage/bacon. how about celery with laughing cow cheese? just take a look at all the allowed foods and mix it up to find something suitable for breakfast.
good luck! and remember that phase 1 is only for 2 weeks! you can do it!Very Happy

The one mess up.....
ok, yes, this has happened to me often. but I found a solution that works for me and maybe it will work for you. first off- if I eat something I shouldn't, for instance, we got a free bag of m&m's from the fair, I resisted for a while then opened up the bag and had a handful. of course I felt guilty afterwards but then instead of just digging in the bag again, I decided to do sit ups! I must have done a few hundred crunches and some squats. I was sweating! well, that totally curbed my hunger and I definately didn't want to mess up and have to do more crunches! Sometimes when I'm have a weak moment, I just grab my water bottle and go for a walk. then after a good sweat and knowing I burned off some calories, the thought of ruining my diet is far from my mind. It is a matter of mind over matter, and remembering to STOP yourself after you've had a handful a chips. not after you ate the whole bag!Laughing
