Good Evening, FS Warriors! Yep, I'm still alive. I have been plenty busy, but I haven't done well at losing weight. While it is true that it could be a lot worse, I am not happy that it hasn't been a high priority for me. I am now the pastor of a small church running anywhere from 35 to 45 people each week. I love preaching and teaching, and I've got a great group of people. I can walk to church, and try to divide my time between home and the Pastor's study. I still sing in the nursing homes, and lead the worship group at church. It has been a challenge just keeping up with the mowing - at both places this year; it rains just often enough that the grass can't dry thoroughly, and then it gets tall enough to bail. It looks like things will slack off now. It is amazing how much difference a week makes. Last week it was in the 80's; today it felt like it could snow. Well, I hope that everyone is doing well; I haven't had time to check all of my buddies' pages. Take care. Toodles!

Good Evening, FS Warriors! Yes, I am still alive - and even well. I have been a bit overwhelmed with the assignments for this course I have been taking, but only a couple more days to go. This was one of those "have to" courses that are required to be licensed by the District, and earn the right to be called "Reverend." Who'da thunk it? If it happens, it will be sometime in the Spring of next year. Being ordained is a different story; that takes about 3 years minimum. The courses are probably the most demanding of the process, but they do not guarantee that the Denomination will license you or ordain you. There are other factors that go into the process of confirming their ministers. The Nazarene Church takes this stuff pretty seriously.

You would think that all that anxiety would sweat the pounds off. Not so far. I've actually put a few back on. Not as big as when I started, but a long way from where I got to before.

Haven't had time to work on much other than regular maintenance around the home. Yards have needed mowing. The garden is producing. I have been picking kale, Swiss chard, green peppers and tomatoes for over a week now. It will still be a while before I can harvest the green beans.

Starting next week, I will have at least 7 weeks off before I begin my next course. I hope to get a lot more projects done. I also hope to get in some fishing. All work and no play make for a pretty boring life. I did escalate the Nursing Home Ministry to include Assisted Living. I am going to have to do some solo performances because my team finds more than once a month too overwhelming, and I find getting around to the same place only once every six months unsatisfactory. So, who know how all of this will play out. I say "performing" because my ministry never was just to go and preach to these shut-ins. My vision has always been to just lift their spirits and give them hope for a life beyond the one they are living.

Well, enough rambling for now. You never know when I'll drop in. Miss you all. Just haven't had time for much socializing. Toodles!

Good Morning, FS Warriors! It's Sunday morning and Fathers Day. I know most of my friends don't read posts on Sunday, but just letting everyone know I'm still alive. I did 3.25 miles on the treadmill this morning. That was actually my weekend long run. I'm not rushing anything this time. I plan to run slow and long on the weekend, working my mileage up gradually, and do a couple of faster workouts during the week. I still have a half-marathon on my bucket list; not sure about a marathon.

Yesterday was the church's Fathers Day fishing outing. I didn't get much fishing in since I am the guy that brings the meat, the grill, the water and the ice, and prepares the food. Just big hamburgers and jumbo hot dogs. I don't know where these guys put it; seems like if it's free, they grow an extra stomach. Anyway, I was wore out when I got home. I was determined that I was still going to run this morning though.

Classes are still grueling; the grass is still growing, and so is DW's "Honey Do" list. Life is good though. We've added Assisted Living venues to our Nursing Home ministry. I'm having a balloon twister come out to the church grounds for the kids next Saturday for three hours. We'll have ice cream and some games as well. Should be fun.

Here's wishing everyone a great day, and an even better week ahead. Toodles!
