The 1500 a day plan seems to be working; FatSecret’s recommendation of 2500 calories is just way too high to lose any appreciable weight. Ate a yogurt with way too much sugar in lieu of some really good looking jelly and cream filled donuts that were brought to the church - the lesser of two evils, but still managed to retire for the night at less than 1500 calories.

3.8 lbs. down. It’s real because I’ve been at that weight for 3 days now. This is going to be a tough haul; usually when I have gained a lot of weight, the first ten pounds comes off really fast. I must have been on the verge of a significant weight gain when I first weighed in at 275, so it’s good I started when I did. Let’s hope that this time, I am on the right trek to a maintainable lifestyle change.

Today was the first weekend of what we call the scenic drive in the Spoon River Valley. A number of the towns, cities and villages throughout the county sell their wares. Typically, you will find folk art, blacksmithing, metal Art, and all kinds of local crafts. It became commercialized quite a bit over the last few years, so there has been a mix of “made locally” and imported wares. But this year, due to Covid-19, the event was rather lackluster. Only a small percentage of the towns and villages elected to participate, and yard sales were probably the main event. I picked up a few used tools, and kettle corn and a rather decorative bag for the wife. The real challenge was staying away from the ribeye and smoked brisket sandwiches. I did well. I am trying my best to stick with a 1200 calorie a day eating plan. No plan - just being more choosie about what I am eating. I’ve been absent from this site for a long time, but I’ve gained a lot of weight back, and I want to fit into my suit in a couple of weeks. It is what it is; the past is behind, and I am on a mission again. Glad to be back.
