Barley v. Oatmeal
I was discussing my diet and exercise plan with my doctor this afternoon. She said that OATMEAL is on it's way out. What could possibly take the place of the American Heart Association's favorite whole grain? BARLEY! Apparently, the American Diabetic Association says that Oatmeal boosts insulin too high. Barley is a great alternative because of the serious roughage and complex carb content.
Has anyone else heard about this?
I love oatmeal, but am intrigued by barley! I bet it's awesome with cinnamon and honey (then again, what isn't?!)
