John10251's Journal, 27 January 2019

Last night was date night and we went to a Mexican restaurant and then a movie. My date looked lovely and I enjoyed her company. I'm glad she's my wife. I cleaned my plate just like my Dad insisted when I was a kid. As a result, I ate "Poorly" at 119% of goal. I did meet my protein goal and met all activity goals. BF up .4% and is back out of range. All progress gained yesterday was erased last night but I'm not defeated...

This is what maintenance is all about! You can indulge a day and then get right back on it!

I don't know how often you have date nights, but mine are rare. I to did "poorly" when I had a date night a couple of weeks ago. Date nights are very needed in a relationship even more in a marriage. They are great and mean so much! Just pick up where you left off and it will all be worth it.!!!

Nice to hearJohn...life is not always about a calorie deficit, and a "friend" told me "happy wife, happy life"...she's still a good friend after almost 40 years :)

Well the good thing is that you are an adult and no longer have to do what your dad Saiys.

Your progress WAS NOT ERASED last night! I have been listening to Craig Groschel of Life Church teach online on "Habits" Every good choice you make is a step towards the life you want. It has been so inspiring for my goal. I will keep going and keep making the decision to not exchange my long term goal for short term satisfaction. Blessings. . . You can do this. The rewards are beyond fun.

Water weight gain, no way a small % of calories over goal does any real damage. We have to live life, it's well worth it for a great date night with your wife!

Date night with the wife is more valuable - enjoying the adventure = winning.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. We did have a good time and it was worth it. My wife was my high school sweetheart and we have been married 42 years. Monday is another opportunity to work towards my fitness goals. I'm getting a lot of satisfaction just by continuing to try to do better...
