Mom cried as I changed her in night saying this is too hard. I stroked her forehead & said that I don’t know why our exit is so difficult but it just is sometimes... she calmed down & I got her back to sleep. She’s a beautiful woman who had 8 kids (I’m #8) & 35 grandchildren. She’s had her share of trials & tribulations... I pray she go in peace someday soon but I’m not in control of her destiny... help is on its way... thanks for letting me share.

My heart is with you! It is so hard to watch them lose control! I hope your siblings are supporting you both - she is so lucky to be with you! It’s been 6 years that Mom has needed complete care! I just feel so bad that her quality of life has diminished and she only has me. I too pray that she will go peacefully and not drag on! She never complains and seems to be content with the way things are! I hope many blessings are bestowed on you and your Mom! ❤️

Hugs to you as you support and love your mom through this transition. I saw my parents do this with my grandmother. It was so HARD. But my father says it was one of the most meaningful and beautiful experiences of his life. He says "I got to have breakfast with my mama everyday for two years". I hope you both can find some beauty and joy in this difficult time.

I’m so sorry. I’m dealing with a similar situation as the primary caregiver for my mother in law. It’s so hard physically, mentally and emotionally. You will be in my prayers.

Thank you so much to all of you and your incredibly supportive thoughts and words. They have meant so much to me. It is so great to hear from all of you. It’s also comforting to know how much in common we have. My mom is 97 & yes my family is supportive. Today is a new day. Feeling very grateful. 1 of my sisters has to go back to Portland & wishes she didn’t. It is an eye opener when you realize how lucky you are to have family who love you & support you.
