KETO to CARNIVORE , LONG day 7 recap with intermittent fasting: beef bacon and a little butter only plus electrolytes and vitamins.. the first four days my body went into a full blown lupus flare. It was probably coming on before the change in diet. Then I had two good days Friday and Saturday. THE DIET: BORING: Especially if you aren't able to afford nice cuts of beef for variety. The swelling in hands has gone down a little the last few days. MY CALORIES have dropped the last two weeks significantly. My average daily calories: 1250 week before carnivore, and about 1000+- on carnivore this. The last two days I've been hungry and thought I'd make it to the next day fasting, hoping it would help my weight loss stalls. well, NO. I had a hard time getting to sleep and staying asleep when hungry. When my calories are higher via fat i'm not hungry. MY WEIGHT NOTLOSS: The least two weeks I've hovered 185, 186, 185, 184 185 184.5 LOL etc. So, ALL this damn work for two pounds IN TWO WEEKS. NO, that's not good enough. YES, it's discouraging. THIS IS BS. So all you bozos saying I ate too much the first two MONTH's on Keto and I just needed to cut calories, you are WRONG. There is more to calories in calories out in a body. Those who struggle, I'm with ya. I feel for ya, and we will figure this out. In my MIND no one should have to cut calories that drastically and starve to lose weight. I believe that if someone is stalling this pathetically and not cheating ONCE, there is something off. That is my hypothesis, and i'm gonna figure it out OR be proven wrong. Either way, I'm not giving up. I'm going to do another week carnivore probably. I need to give it another week, till i get a follow up visit with the doc to help me figure out what is out of balance and hit it full steam ahead. Everyone I know who started carnivore lost decent weight the first week. Me, 1 pound. I could continue this diet forever if it worked and i felt great! But 1 POUND, NO, I'D RATHER STARVE TILL I LOST ALL THE WEIGHT and then do keto, but I won't. Heck, if I cut my calories to 500 I probably wouldn't lose either and be obsessed all day because of hunger. Right now, my hunger is tempting me to make fried green tomatoes with dinner. I won't YET. 184.0 lb Lost so far: 46.0 lb.    Still to go: 69.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

do you think your new medication might have caused the flare up?? I tried to remember when you first posted new medication and the new diet verus the flare up. I am dealing with my own here, so I understand frustration, and struggling to find the triggers and get past them. timing of the flare can be key, things done the day before verus the day. sorry you are going through this

I really wish you were having an easier time of it. I also wish good ribeye was less expensive. I would think eating meat only, one would want to eat until full whenever needed and let the calories fall where they will. But yes humans do get bored with food easily. I don't think I could do that without butter and seasonings so I could have Tex/Mex beef and then Italian beef and then French beef... And as long as you are healthy, I sure love your stick-to-it-iveness:)

Vam49 thanks, yup, you eat till satisfied. I weigh my meat and measure what i have and only eat what I want. I weigh because it's easy to go wayyy over my protein requirements. So I thought I'd shoot for reasonable protein intake and then I needed to add fat to my really lean cuts of beef. My dog gets sick of the same stuff too haha, but she loves beef and bacon. She won't touch liver! Go figure.

*Hugz* Been there. 8 years on FatSecret. I kept losing and gaining the same 10 pounds. I think you are doing the right thing, basically you keep trying new things and looking at the numbers. I looked at your carbs and thought that if that were me I would be dropping weight. But, that doesn't matter. My body and yours are different. The only thing that matters is what works for YOU. However, I looked again and saw that your calories came with actual food! :) That is something I am only now trying (today I will be eating steak). Let's see what happens with me (however gaining weight is not a problem for me).

Adef haha actual food! If you can call what I eat food lol. Yaa, all good, I've been here over the last 8 years too, but lost my other account. It wasn't this hard back then. Now it's like pulling teeth! The extreme difficulty started 3 years ago. Then I just gave up dieting over a year and gained 40 pounds FAST! I had to stop it, so here I am again from the beginning of the year. Over the last 2.5 months I have seriously not cheated once! I've never not cheated lol! This time I'm going on 2.5 months no cheat haha, that's a miracle! So I know I've done my very best. I'm keeping my 2 meals in a 4 hour window so, I'm just stuck. Maybe this is the dark before the WHOOOSH HAHA ENJOY THAT STEAK FOR ME!

Adef ahh I get it, just read your second day fast info again, yup, I don't eat any shakes or packaged keto food. I even gave up heavy cream! I gave up everything that could be called out as a stall food. No fake sweeteners, no diet nada. I've never in my life gone cold turkey on those lol.
