I did well sticking to my plan last week, so I am happy with my results. I know it is probably mostly water loss, but you have to start somewhere.

I do know I need to find an easy way to add some easy fat to my meals. Green olives have been my go to. I did get a keto cookbook, so I need to go through that to get some ideas.

Great loss, Jbatc! If you like cream in coffee, heavy whipping cream has no carbs or protein but 5g fat per TBSP. That's my go-to "breakfast," and it helps me extend my overnight fast to 1:00 p.m. or later. (I prefer it to butter or coconut oil in coffee.) I like being a bit generous with full-fat salad dressings and butter on my vegetables and in my scrambled eggs. I also add real cheese -- not "Velveeta" or "American," neither of which are "real" cheese, to my scrambled eggs. (American cheese is a blend, not like gouda, edam, brie, cheddar, mozzarella, etc.) Be attentive to the macros in recipes. I've found that even some "keto" cookbooks are out of balance (too little fat, too much carb and protein).

Whipping cream has 1 gm (per tbsp) of starch (complex carbs) which translate into sugar. The label shows no sugar, but when you subtract the fiber from the total carbs you get 1 gm. Half and half has only a small amount less. I love it in my coffee, but just a little bit doesn't do anything for me. So, I'm looking at 5 gm of net carbs just for my morning coffee. I think this is correct. I could be wrong.

I really don't like coffee but if I add a heaping tsp of dark cocoa powder to it I can tolerate Keto coffee. It's great iced. Today I wasn't even hungry for lunch until 2:00!
