I'm about done with salads😄. I eat 2 a day, one with meat and other with, veggies. I know they are to be healthy, but some days it is difficult. my weekend is Monday- Wednesday, due to working. I try to stay on track, but with hubby home it's hard sometimes, so then its salads. Any suggestions of alternatives to lettuce and veggies?

I will have tuna salad on a bed of lettuce. Once a week I will also fry up some hamburger like I'm making spaghetti with onions, garlic, peppers or wherever I want in it and just warm a little up at a time. I'll add pickles, banana peppers, cheese and mustard. It's great to take for lunch also. EASY!! Good luck.

My problem is I don't eat fish or tuna, but like the hamburger idea. Thanks

I've been experimenting with different dressings and putting nuts in my salad for changes, And it does keep my calorie intake low, but I'm going to look like a rabbit soon😊

You can try and make a soup out of veggies or a shake with veggies like spinach, cucumber and red beet combined with fruits.

Not sure if you mean ways to pep up salads or ways to avoid them altogether. I add toppings to my salad to keep them interesting (to me, anyway) like nut s and seeds, cottage cheese, blue cheese, chow mein noodles, crunchy chopped cabbage or celery. A lot of ppl add fruit, but i personally like fruits and veggies so stay separate. I also like to bulk up meals with veggies. I roast Brussel sprouts, cauliflower and green beans in the toaster oven and just add to everything.

I usually salad every other night and then roasted or grilled veggies the other. I'll eat leftover cooked veggies and protein for lunch.

Steamed and baked vegetables might be a good choice. I always drizzle some sesame dressing or chilly sauce on top to add some flavours.

Adding some cucumbers, onions , bamboo shoots, and corns is a good option. You can also add some fruits, like tomatoes, blueberry, cranberry ,and some meat, like chicken breast, beef shank, boiled eggs in salads. After eating salad, Muesli, steamed and roasted sweet potatoes, Greek yogurt...are the best dessert. A lot of food is great and delicious !
