I have a meter (true metrix) that I got at walgreens - It is for my blood glucose but it will also read ketones - it is just a different strip. I would suggest that you find the strips that are in your budget and then math the meter to that strip. the meter test strips can be really expensive. there are others at Amazon that are urine based and are cheaper.

When I first started FS I was influenced by Bill Mr Gadget man (draglist) ty Bill. and bought one it help reassured me I was following my plan. Now I don't use it or a scale I'm content where I am. I have change my diet to a more healthy one, enjoying it more with granola, wild friends chocolate coconut peanut butter, grains, nuts ect They know me by name in the health food store! 

My husband bought me a Fitbook for xmas last year and just want to say it has been my saving grace. It is awesome!! Just mention that before i forget 

I have been checking blood ketones daily. My body is really sensitive to each and every carb or extra protein I ingest! It was expensive, but worth the cost for me. I was already making my fingers bleed for a glucose meter. My diabetes in under control.

I saw on one of Thomas Delauer's videos that there is a breath test gadget that is supposedly the best measure of ketone bodies. Has anyone ever used one of these? Also keep us updated on how the blood test work compared to the ketone strips.
