But the yolks are so delicious and healthy. Why lose them?

Erikahollister: egg yolks have nearly 200 mg of cholesterol in them. I have given them because my cholesterol was high on my last lab test. I try to stay under 200 mg a day. Don't know if it makes a difference but I am reducing foods that are high in cholesterol (red meat, shrimp, egg yolks) to see if it helps.

@Fritzy 22 there is GOOD cholesterol which your body needs BADLY and bad cholesterol, supposedly. They are now finding out they know less than they thought about it your brain needs it! Eggs by themselves between yolk and white are perfectly balanced between the two. The white has the good cholesterol, which responsible doctors want to be high because it actually is protective. 🙋🏻

Wait, what? "Last meal"... that sounds ominous! Seriously, good job!

Smprowett- I've been eating egg whites starting in January and when I log them, no cholesterol is indicated. I know there are good fats and bad fats. I eat nuts most days and also avocado, both have good fats. I also use extra virgin olive oil when I stir fry. The lab tests I had showed the good cholesterol (HDL?) was fine but the bad cholesterol and also total cholesterol were both above the normal range for the first time. My doctor just said to try to eat unprocessed foods and try to eat low fat foods but that I can have nuts, and avocado and not to worry about them. I had read eggs provided ideal protein, but I am giving up the yolks for a while at least.

@Fritzy 22.
Here is a good video info in regards to nuts https://youtu.be/VlFFtGmVF84
I do keto witch follows a high fat low carb protocol. You may not that's ok. The thing to be mindful of is Your over al gut health. Many nuts are high in omega 6 fatty acids and other acids witch is inflammatory in the gut. I recommend looking into foods that reduces gut inflammation and supports gut health verses cutting out certain foods. In short fats are not the evil with in like the main stream health world or big brother wants you to believe. Seriously, they have been touting low fat diets for many many years now, yet obesity is still climbing. In everything it's about balance and moderation.
Hope this was informative.
