NO loss or gain today, exactly the same, on the dot. No biggie at all, I'm actually perfectly happy with that. I didn't work out yesterday except for a bit of stretching, I needed to rest up and recharge my batteries. I'm raring to go today! I think I'll dance with Kaelyn with hand weights for 30 minutes while she's awake, and when she goes down for a nap I will do some more cardio and weight training. My calories have been pretty low lately, so I'm going to gradually cycle them up to a decent level, increasing about 100-200 calories at a time, then keep my calories between 700-1200 a day, switching it up daily. Once I hit my target I will increase them more to maintanance level, about 1300-1500. This is my last day on level one, and my goal is lots of protein and vegetables. I bought some carrots this week, I saw that they are now allowed on the South Beach. I could have one for a post-workout energy boost. I am going to shoot for about 650 calories today, then increase that by 100-200 calories tommorow. I'm going for very little fat, lots of protein, lots of veggies today. I'm going to try to switch it up regularly to keep my body guessing, a technique used by bodybuilders to lose fat fast for competitions. Wish me luck. One note, I realize some of you may be worried that I am not getting enough calories, but don't worry, I have done my research and it is ok, as long as it is only for short periods and I increase gradually.

Don't be discouraged about no loss for a day, you need to look at your weekly loss and you lost much more than normal last week. You're doing amazing and check out your chart, there should be no complaints there now! Youre doing better than great!

You're doing great! Good job on doing your research, but just remember to listen to your body, ... if you continue to feel great, then KICK IT!! But if you start to feel not so good, then be very careful, as our bodies are all a bit different. Changing our calories dramatically can be "shocking" to the body. My only concern would be that your body may go into starvation mode on too low of cals. Just listen to your body and you'll be fine! :) Remember to get all of you water in and stay hydrated, too. =D

Thinking about not losing one day after such a big weight loss, is a bit excessive; you know you won't lose EVERY SINGLE DAY.....Relax and do as you plan; it's a good plan.....

Ya'll I SAID i was fine with not losing any today..I'm not discouraged at all! From what i have read in medical journals, true starvation mode is when the body no longer has any fat to burn for energy, and it starts to consume muscle and lean tissue. I'm using weights to preserve lean mass, and I am going back up on my calories now that I am starting level two. With increased carbs I should have more energy to work out too. I'm going to base my carb intake on how much cardio i plan on doing, it's not such a great idea to work out strenuosly on very little carbs.

Lotus, I fluctuate my daily calorie instake all the time, and I'm not starving. I have to shake my head at people's fears of starvation! We worry more about starving than we do about the harm fattening foods do to our bodies!
