I'D LOVE SOME FEEDBACK FROM YOU ALL. I started WEIGHT WATCHERS. I've gone to two meetings, had two weigh-ins. I'm wondering what others' experiences are. I like the meetings, but I think their community, called 'connect,' is very flawed. And I'm questioning WW's points system, specifically with regards to calories vs. points, i.e., fruit, which have a lot of calories but zero points on Weight Watchers. I will continue going to them because, as I said, I like the meetings. But I think I'll plug my calories into Fatsecret to make sure I don't go overboard and gain weight. Any thoughts???

I have never tried WW but I do love Fatsecret :) It helps to keep me focused. Although I do keep a written, daily food diary for myself, I mostly only use Fatsecret for weight in's and exercise diary. Sometimes I do add what I eat during a day on the food dairy here. If you have the time to use all of the Fatsecret tools, I think it will help you in your journey to loose the extra weight. Good luck!

WW is a good company, but you have to remember they are a company $$$$$. They are overseen by doctors to be sure they have your best nutrition in mind. That being said, I personally find them behind the times. I feel they want you to eat too much, maybe to get you to stay enrolled longer. Belonging to FatSecret is a great community much like going to meetings at WW. If you ask me carbs are the reason we are on a change of life plans. Carbs are sugar and sugar is deadly. Cut your carbs to under 20 and you will see a drop in weight. The reason you ask lol well I'll tell you. When you eat carbs it turns to sugar for your body's fuel. Well if you don't eat carbs your body uses your stored body fat for fuel. I hope this helps and good luck with your weight loss journey!

I've done WW numerous times and have been successful. They are however, just a tool, a costly one if you keep going year after year. For you it may be the right fit, everyone is different. For me I was only successful with WW my first attempt. After that I got pregnant again, stopped going obviously, and well that's when all my weight crept back. I've tried it again several times over the years but I could never seem to get the success I did that first time. I was a lot younger then, but for me I just felt like I was wasting my money. I discovered MFP years ago, but was never really happy because it lacked the support I would get at WW meetings. I recently discovered FS which seems to have all the tracking+ of MFP and a great community of support! Good luck in finding the perfect fit for you!

I don't think that you will gain weight eating fruit. I think Weight Watchers is trying to teach people about filling and satisfying foods, not just looking at calories. That is good for long term health and weight management. That said, I never felt really supported. It's more company than support group from my experience. I did reach my goal weight with them once.

If you're wired to follow a plan to the (proverbial) letter... then WW is for you. If you need flexibility and thrive better on managing food boundaries (avoiding only certain foods) - find something else (just my advice).

I never paid to do weight watchers but I followed the old point system and lost a lot of weight on it. I did like being able to eat what I want as long as I stayed in my points. You learn to pick foods that fill you and have lots of fiber- however, be careful not to get into diet foods that are not good for you just to stay within your points.

I did weight watchers twice. First time I lost 14 lbs over the course of 17 weeks. Second time I managed to loose closer to 10lbs. First time I was counting point the Classic way and the second time it was points plus. It’s slow process and as you continue to lose weight your point threshold also goes lower, so it makes it tough to stick through it. I am currently doing low carb (Atkins) and am seeing results. 6 weeks, down 8lbs. Plus I love what I eat and don’t feel much hunger. I have thyroid issues, so losing weight is difficult! This past year I gained over 20lbs. I hope to get to the 20 lbs goal by spring. As long as you are dedicated and show accountability, you will see results! Stick with it if it works for you!! We are here to support and cheer you on! Stay strong 💪

I disliked Freestyle, honestly, and as soon as the switch happened, I stopped losing and even gained back most of what I lost with the old system on it.

I like WW, however it was frustrating when they keep changing the program. Also, I found it stressful to weight in every week in front of someone. I feel more comfortable just weighing myself weekly by myself. I am happy with my results so far, I also wasn't logging my food on WW, but I do here I have had actually better results on this website. but I do believe that WW is a good program, especially if you are learning to eat healthy. There is lots of information and I truly believe that as far as programs go it teaches you how to actually change your lifestyle, which is what weight loss is all about. and the cook books are great they have delicious recipes.

regardless of the points you count or calories you count - I find the take away from any of the ww programs is be mindful of what your intake is.

Great advice, everybody. I'm going to combine a lot of what I read above because there's a lot you all said I can do. I'm going to stay with Weight Watchers because I love their meetings and have a FANTASTIC group leader who truly inspires me. I'm going to eat fewer carbs. I'll still eat fruits and veggies but I think refined carbs should be avoided. And I'm going to count my calories alongside tracking. Thanks, all!
