Romak's Journal, 07 February 2010

I spent all day in class and did fine. When I have all my food for the day in the lunch bag, it makes things easier. I'll do the same for today. No change on the scale this morning, but I have more time before I weigh in. The Seven Day Challenge was great to get me going, but it's better for me if I don't weigh every day. After the challenge is over I'll weigh myself once a week, and check my measurements. I love to see my BMI go down, almost more than I like to see my weight go down.

I got a whiff of that same old feeling when I stepped on the scale this morning and nothing had changed. It's almost like I feel like I "deserve" another drop because I did so well. Well, it doesn't work that way, and I need to remind myself. I get complacent when I look at the scale day after day and it doesn't move. If I move onto OWL in the third week, I'll start feeling better with my exercise, and it'll be interesting to see what foods I have troubles with. I already know sugar alcohols are one food that I can't get away with. Anyway, I don't want to dwell on this, but seeing the scale stay the same for 2 days brings back all those depressing times in the past when the scale stayed the same for 6 or 8 weeks and I just gave up. I don't want to do that this time.

don't get discouraged by the scale! there are so many factors, so many thingsa that can lead to the same number during a few days. weighing yourself everyday can even show a gain, which is sooo depressing but totally artificial. Keep up the good job, the results will follow! and yes, it's a great idea to take your measurements, dropping inches is almost better than weighing lighter!

ohhh Don't be discouraged think about it.. if it's the same weight for a few days atleast you're not gaining!!! I always look at it like that. I had 2 weeks where my weight hovered back and forth between 2 or 3 lbs..i would lose and gain and stay the same and gain and lose and finally got past that! Don't you feel thinner even if it's not showing in the numbers?? Even when I dont drop (and i do get a pouty face) I feel thinner.. i have noticed my booty is going and i gotta do something to stop that LOL! but i feel it. I hope you do too. You are doing a great job!

Thanks for your comments jessyline and Stacyp. The support feels great. I was feeling just a bit discouraged. It helps when someone out there has been through something similar and can add their ideas. I'll be reading these a few times to get it in my brain. And you're right. I didn't gain!! Good point! I actually am going to put my scale away for a week now that my "seven day challenge" is done today. Thanks! Roma
