I tend to socialise over the weekend, which includes having a few drinks. I have reverted to whisky as I've heard that it has the lowest amount of calories. Despite "budgeting" for my social activities with my calories, I still feel like I am not losing enough per week. Will be very difficult to cut out my social activities entirely...don't know what to do!!!!

There's no need to cut it ALL out, but cut some here and there. If I were you, bring FatSecret with you when you go out. Get the phone app, and register your food as you go. It's a real eye opener, and even if you decide to eat/drink what you feel like, registering it as you go still makes you do better. That's what I do - and it's worked perfect ALL the way. If nothing goes in your mouth before it goes in your food journal, you never have bad surprises. You just have success.

Thanks for the motivation Kingkeld. I do have the iphone app and I do find it indispensable as I log as I go along. It helps me be mindful of what I am about to put into my mouth, and the repercussions of it later. I have had wonderful feedback from family, friends and colleagues on my losing weight....but my scale is not showing the weight loss. That is really demotivating because I want to see the figures drop!!!....makes me just want to gobble down a pizza!!!
