My heart hurts for you that you have these feelings. May I suggest for the coming year, volunteering? Look outside yourself and pick a cause you believe in. I have found helping others is a great feeling and also brings me into contact with like minded people. Please know that even tho you may feel alone, you are not. There are so many that feel this way, the holidays are a struggle for many...

My grandmother wisely told me years ago to treat holidays as just another day...24 hours and it is over. Many of us know too well the loneliness that comes from being alone. Start planning today what you are going to do tomorrow when this day is gone. I know it is difficult....but as so many have said, you are loved, respected and appreciated by all of us. I know your pain as my parents and only sibling are gone. I am an orphan. I volunteer at the doggie shelter and bake them a turkey so that I won't be alone and I know that my efforts are enjoyed!
