RoseFlorida's Journal, 04 June 2015

Super stressful day today. 2 adults and a 14 year old kid stole a expensive reel from the shop yesterday. Today I finally learned how to the video system and sent the video to a jump drive. Tomorrow I have to call the police and tell them 3 regular customers stole a $110 penn conflict from me. I really hope it was worth the 1000 dollar fine and the loss of a license for a year. Plus they'll probably get worse for using a kid (yes he was part of it, I watched the video they had signals, only took a minute and a half) Guess they didn't see the BIG signs saying you are on camera or they thought the cameras were fake. BAD WORD, BAD WORD, BAD WORD. That's a whole string of bad words I want to say but will only think instead. I was super pissed last night and did not get a good night's sleep. Tomorrow is supposed to be my day off but instead I get to talk to the police to press charges (Yes, I am pressing charges and will follow through)

Do what you have to do. It is your lively hood and they didn't care. Good luck.

I'm hoping I can still test out my son's new kayak tomorrow. I got him an inflatable one so can go together this summer.

Usually we give them a chance to pay first and if they don't we call the cops. After that if they come back we have them arrested for trespassing and the shoplifting. This time they involved a kid. I know this 14 year old. I don't remember his name but I know people who do, including someone who has his and his parents contact info. Not cool, do not teach kids it's okay to steal. I'm pretty sure this won't be the first time the adults have been charged with this so the penalties will most likely be stiffer, plus adults who persuade or help minors commit acts of juvenile delinquency may be charged with the crime of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Florida law charges as a first-degree misdemeanor, punishable by a $1,000 fine and up to one year in jail plus the shoplifting charge. That's pretty hefty here. Petit theft in the first degree—a first degree misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in county jail, a year of probation, and/or a $1000 fine. In addition, if you are charged with either first degree or second degree petit theft, Florida law now REQUIRES the suspension of your driver’s license for up to six months for your first conviction and one year for each subsequent conviction.

Definitely press charges, the adults need to be held accountable, the kid too but hopefully it might get him steered back in the right direction. Can't believe someone would use a kid to do that, terrible.
