Sandy701's Journal, 15 July 2011

No walking today, as it was raining/storming most of the morning. Not a whole lot of rain, but just enough to keep us inside.

I opted to NOT do Stairmaster this AM in lieu of walking, mostly in frustration that the pound I've been anticipating dropping for days has seen fit to stick around awhile longer. Then, I ended up doing some emotional snarfing of peanuts so now I'm stuck with not many more calories or carbs for the day PLUS I'm kind of full-feeling from the peanuts. It really ticked me off that the pound I've been watching for 2 weeks (!!) is still there AND, according to my weight late last night, I should have dropped it with this AM's weigh-in. The "18" on my bulletin board is STILL THERE!

Just ranting here, as I know I haven't been as disciplined as I need to be on this WOE. My weight loss is quite sloth-like and the stars have to align just right for each separate pound to drop. The only good news is that putting the pounds on goes the same way....relatively sloth-like. Perhaps there are some advantages to being older - LOL!

I have lots of options on what to do next, everything from "nothing" to adjusting foods, esp. veggies. Of course, I want to adjust for 1 meal and see an immediate difference - don't we all?

If I were in Maintenance, this would be fine, but I've got 18-25 more pounds to go.

I've just been taking too many liberties with the program when I still need to be on the straight-and-narrow. I might be able to get that pound to drop tomorrow but I still need to look ahead and plan to be more disciplined in following the actual WOE, and that includes veggies.

It is disheartening to work hard and not see your goal achieved. I think you are on the right track with your thinking about those peanuts. I just finished the bag of almonds and I think I won't buy another for about a month. Wanting to munch and really not having a good alternative..I used to eat lots of vegetables on WW for crunchy snacking, but on Atkins you need to be more careful. Carrots were always my favorite, but now they are a no-no. I think you are having too few calories, but I personally do not like to add more fat to my diet to up the intake and that is always the advice given. Good luck Sandy!

I absolutely agree with you on the sloth-like losses and gains. SOOOOO much harder to lose once I hit 50. Painfully slow!!!!
