Some people love to talk like they know the facts, yet they are over weight. Do the research before you start an argument because someone like me will finish it. Not trying to be rude, just honest. If you can prove to me that eating a lot of protein is not good for you and "excessive" during weight loss, please prove it! I've been into fitness all my life not including my cousin who works with the CEO of P90X and a personal trainer as a boyfriend. Do the math, eat the protein, use the shakes accordingly, and get toned. Don't be a flabby know it all.

Most people can eat plenty of protein and never have problems, but there are some who people with liver and kidney problems who cannot digest a huge amount. But your correct protein is the best way to lose the flab!

JenzNfriendz--I can not argue with what you said. But I do know that for some people a high protein diet can be dangerous. I had a friend who went high protein and did the protein shakes thing and she ended up destroying her kidneys and going on dialysis. That said, let me also say that I do not know if she followed the diet exactly like she should have. I also don't know if she saw a doctor to get an OK for the diet (she was a bad diabetic). People who have other health issues besides obesity need more than a few internet searches before they decide on a diet (a little knowledge can be dangerous). They need to talk to a doctor or a nutritionist or someone who has really spent the time doing diet/nutritional research and can give appropriate advice.

Well said Jenn! I will say if someone has current health issues to check with their doctor before doing starting a diet that isn't "balanced" and proper research should be done. Something a lot of people DON'T realize when they change their diets to high protein or for example follow P90X's diet...if you don't find a way to incorporate more fiber, you'll run into some uh issues lol Hope you have a great day doll!

haha yeah. Well I was trying to explain to this lady about the protein thing and she only has about 23g a day! She said she likes food too much. Granted I like food too, but protein in the morning to start your day and after a workout is a must. I tried telling her to do her research (doctor, net, trainer, etc.) Protein shakes are there to digest faster when you need it and if you don't get enough during the day. I wasn't telling her to starve herself,...geez...I'm not anerexic. haha. And yeah, I understand too much protein can hurt you, but your body can only digest so much. I told her to do the math on how much she was supposed to take to obtain her weightloss. Everyone is different, but I'm positive 23 g a day won't cut it...

23g?! OMG...I've been having a hell of a time getting my protein in b/c of lack of groceries but wth was she eating?? I need my protein and I can tell when I haven't had enough. It was so nice eating at the boyfriend's this weekend - turkey burgers on the grill one night and grilled chicken the next...mmmm...

Oh, that sounds delicious! There's no telling what she was eating. With her talking about how much she loves food. Oh well, hopefully she learned something out of it. It is hard being a female and getting enough pt. I think my weakness is carbs. ah!

LoL I think women naturally like carbs more! And they were...lol At least its easy to eat healthy at the boyfriend's house b/c he's just as bad if not worse than I am! His freezer is stocked with fish, turkey burger and chicken...veggies, fruits, and yogurt in the fridge lol one thing we WON'T argue about once we're living together will be the groceries!
